Chapter 090: Steward Mu
Chapter Ninety: Steward Mu
"Mu Feixue?"
Blood Fox frowned and looked at Liu Huamei; he had never heard the name either.
"Yes. He said his name was Mu Feixue, and that he came from the East Sea Alliance," Liu Huamei said softly.
"The East Sea Alliance?"
Chu Fei and Blood Fox exchanged a glance. Ji Wenxuan’s account had already made the East Sea Alliance familiar to both of them, but they had not expected it to move this quickly.
"I remember now." Blood Fox suddenly slapped his forehead, though his expression grew grave. "There is indeed a Mu Feixue in the East Sea Alliance. Strictly speaking, though, he does not belong to the East Sea Alliance proper, but to the East Sea Gang. Outsiders are more used to calling him Steward Mu."
When he finished, Blood Fox looked at Chu Fei and said, "I really did not expect the first to show up would not be the East Sea Alliance, but the East Sea Gang." His tone was a little strange.
Chu Fei’s brow furrowed deeply. With Blood Fox’s reminder, he too remembered who Mu Feixue was. After returning to his family, Ji Wenxuan had immediately sent Chu Fei a detailed dossier on the East Sea Alliance. It covered not only the alliance’s open structure and composition, but also the East Sea Gang hidden behind it. Of course, those materials were still only surface-level, yet they described the East Sea Alliance with enough detail. At the time Chu Fei had merely glanced through them and tossed them to Blood Fox, only vaguely noticing an introduction to this Mu Feixue.
Assuming Chu Fei did not know who Mu Feixue was, Blood Fox went on, "The East Sea Gang is divided into three halls: the Slaughter Hall, the Heavenly Secrets Hall, and the Hidden Hall. Each is responsible for a different sphere. Outsiders only know the Slaughter Hall, which is also the East Sea Gang’s most visible and important branch. It handles some of the more troublesome underworld disputes within the East Sea Alliance, and it is an absolute force of violence."
"Second is the Heavenly Secrets Hall, which mainly handles intelligence gathering and organization. The East Sea Alliance has achieved what it has today and grown so steadily because of the Heavenly Secrets Hall’s existence."
"The last hall is the Hidden Hall."
At this point Blood Fox looked at Chu Fei again. "Outsiders only know that the East Sea Gang has a Slaughter Hall. Very few people know about the Hidden Hall, the intelligence branch. As for the Hidden Hall, it is even more mysterious, and fewer still know of it. Mu Feixue is the hall master of the Hidden Hall."
"Is that so?" Chu Fei raised an eyebrow. The East Sea Alliance taking the initiative to make contact with Red Moon was not strange, but the fact that it was the East Sea Gang doing it made the matter rather intriguing.
Blood Fox continued, "Mu Feixue is called Steward Mu because of the nature of the Hidden Hall. Unlike the other two halls, which serve the East Sea Alliance, the Hidden Hall has only one job: to protect the safety of the East Sea Alliance’s backbone. To put it more plainly, many of the alliance’s core members are guarded in secret by hidden experts."
Having said this, Blood Fox suddenly curled his lips in a faint smile. "They say it is protection, but I think it is more like a form of indirect surveillance."
Chu Fei said nothing. Blood Fox’s words had given him a truly systematic understanding of the East Sea Gang, and also explained why Mu Feixue was called a steward.
Mu Feixue really did seem like a steward in nature, except that the power of this steward was a little terrifying. He could actually decide the life and death of countless big shots in the East Sea Alliance? On the surface he was a bodyguard, but in truth he was more like a sharpened blade hanging over the heads of those great figures.
"The East Sea Alliance is called the most mysterious hidden business empire in China for a reason," Blood Fox said with a faint, disdainful smile.
Chu Fei suddenly asked, "The East Sea Gang has three halls. Who is its leader?"
"Leader?" Blood Fox blinked. "What leader?"
"Does the East Sea Gang not have a boss?" Chu Fei was also taken aback. He had not studied the dossier Ji Wenxuan had sent in detail.
"No." Blood Fox shook his head. "In the outside materials, the East Sea Gang is basically just the Slaughter Hall. No one ever mentions any boss, and Ji Wenxuan’s dossier did not say otherwise."
"A black-market business empire that has developed this steadily, and you believe there is no one who truly holds the reins?" Chu Fei smiled suddenly.
Blood Fox shook his head. He had long since thought of this question, and he did not believe it either, but he truly did not know of any boss.
Chu Fei did not continue on that subject. Instead, he looked at Liu Huamei. "What was Mu Feixue’s purpose in coming to see you this time?" His question was direct, because Liu Huamei knew about his relationship with Blood Fox, so there was no need for caution.
"He did not say it outright, but I could feel that he wanted to recruit me," Liu Huamei said with a light smile.
"Recruit you?" Blood Fox raised an eyebrow. "On behalf of the East Sea Alliance?"
Liu Huamei shook her head. Because Mu Feixue had not stated his purpose clearly, she did not dare make wild guesses. After hesitating for a moment, she said, "I got the feeling that although Mu Feixue was very polite when speaking to me, there was always a trace of contempt. And I had this impression that he seemed to know I am not the true owner behind Red Moon."
She closed her mouth and looked at the two of them.
"Is that so?" Blood Fox’s eyes narrowed. Glancing at Chu Fei, he suddenly asked, "By the way, Chu Fei, you have seen this Mu Feixue before. What is his level of cultivation?"
"His cultivation?" Chu Fei was first startled, then shook his head. "The feeling he gave me was that of an ordinary person, with not a trace of cultivation."
As soon as he said that, Chu Fei’s expression changed.
Would the grand steward of the East Sea Alliance, the hall master of the Hidden Hall, Mu Feixue, really be an ordinary man?
Of course not.
There was only one explanation: Mu Feixue’s cultivation had already reached a realm beyond Chu Fei’s ability to perceive.
Blood Fox’s face was also extremely grave.
He too had thought of the very same thing.
---
Chu Fei did not linger at Red Moon Manor for long.
Mu Feixue’s appearance had made him somewhat more vigilant, but he did not overthink it. In fact, he even trusted Liu Huamei’s intuition: Mu Feixue should already know of his and Blood Fox’s existence. The East Sea Alliance was, after all, an ancient alliance said to have existed for more than three hundred years, so it would not be surprising if they had investigated the two of them.
The only thing puzzling to both men was that Mu Feixue had not come to make contact with Chu Fei, the man behind Star Moon Group, but had instead sought out Liu Huamei of Red Moon. That left them unable to make sense of his true purpose.
Still, whatever his purpose was, speculating without any clear statement was pointless. Chu Fei and Blood Fox decided to wait and see. Both believed the East Sea Alliance would surely show itself again.
"Huh? What are you doing here?"
When he returned home and pushed open the door, Chu Fei froze.
Curled up on the old sofa in the living room was a young woman watching television. It was not his beautiful tenant and former classmate, Ximen Lu, but another old classmate, Xu Shiqi.
"Can’t I be here?" Xu Shiqi immediately sat up when she saw Chu Fei, her face lighting with delight.
"How did you get the key?" Chu Fei walked into the room.
"I asked Ximen Lu for it."
Xu Shiqi stood up, just about to pour him some water, when Chu Fei suddenly pulled her into his arms.
"Ah, what are you doing?" Xu Shiqi cried out.
"What do you think? You came all the way here, didn’t you want this?" Chu Fei wore a wicked grin.
"Nonsense, I was... mmph—"
Xu Shiqi did not finish before Chu Fei’s mouth sealed hers shut.
Then, bending down, he swept her up in his arms and strode toward the bedroom.
After being teased by Ximen Lu the night before, he had already been suffering. Today, he had been further stirred by that big-chested girl Xiao Mimi, and he had been worrying about where to vent his frustration. Now that Class President Xu had delivered herself to his door, of course he would not be polite.
Very soon, the small bedroom was filled with Xu Shiqi’s unmistakable rising and falling sweet cries.
With none of Ximen Lu’s pressure from the next room, Chu Fei’s movements were clearly a level fiercer, to the point that Xu Shiqi’s voice became shamelessly unrestrained, almost lifting the roof off.
---
"Chu Fei, you bastard. You went straight for that the moment you came in and did not even let me say a word."
It was already two hours later.
After being thoroughly warmed twice, Xu Shiqi lay lazily against the bed, her cheeks rosy, her face full of intense satisfaction, though her mouth still pouted in coquettish complaint.
"Weren’t you enjoying yourself just now too?" Chu Fei said with a sly laugh. One hand still lingered over Xu Shiqi’s long legs. He could not help admiring that her skin was truly wonderful. Unlike Ximen Lu’s slender, almost bony type, Xu Shiqi was full of flesh and delightfully springy to the touch, making it hard for him to let go.
"Don’t—"
Xu Shiqi’s body trembled slightly. She tried to reach out and bat his hand away, but found herself weak and sore, unable to do anything. Her beautiful eyes were especially moist as she looked at Chu Fei, almost as if they would drip with water.
The sight made Chu Fei surge with desire again, nearly driving him to a third round.
Frightened, Xu Shiqi exclaimed, "No more, I really can’t take it—"
Seeing that her plea was sincere, Chu Fei gave an awkward smile and pulled her into his arms without further mischief, quietly savoring the lingering warmth left by their passion.
"Chu Fei, you jerk. The moment we met again you went that far. Were you that pent up?" Xu Shiqi asked with a pleased smile, resting in his arms and tilting her head up to tease him.
"Doesn’t that just prove how irresistible you are?" Chu Fei laughed. His tone was casual. That was how it was between men and women: once the final veil had been pierced, they could become even closer than sisters who had been friends for more than a decade. As he spoke, his gaze swept over Xu Shiqi’s voluptuous figure again, and he could not help feeling emotional. On the surface she was refined, intelligent, steady, and proper, but once she got into bed, she became the complete opposite—wild beyond words. Especially just now, though she had been crying out no, no, her waist had been moving with astonishing ferocity.
"Chu Fei, have you noticed anything unusual these past two days?" Xu Shiqi suddenly asked, lifting her head to look at him.
"What unusual things?" Chu Fei, still immersed in the passionate aftermath with Class President Xu, asked in surprise.
"Have you... have you noticed anyone following you?" Xu Shiqi asked after some hesitation, gently biting her lip, her expression somewhat strange.
"Following you? Have you been followed?"
Chu Fei’s mind cleared at once, and he looked at Xu Shiqi.
"I’m not sure either. I just keep feeling like someone has been following me these past two days," Xu Shiqi said with a frown, uncertain. "I suspect it might be Li Dongze. Maybe he has found out about me and you."
"Is that so?" Chu Fei’s expression changed as well. Li Dongze—wasn’t he Xu Shiqi’s fiance?
"Chu Fei, I suddenly find myself falling in love with you. Why don’t I break my engagement with Li Dongze and run away with you? What do you say?"
Xu Shiqi suddenly wrapped her arms around Chu Fei’s neck and cooed at him.
"Huh?" Chu Fei was so startled by her words that he jumped, even more shocked than before.
"Just kidding. Look how frightened you are."
Xu Shiqi said with a giggle, though a trace of barely noticeable disappointment flashed in the depths of her eyes.
