Chapter 128: Where Am I Sleeping Tonight?
Chapter 128: Where Am I Sleeping Tonight?
“Are you very familiar with Mu Feixue?”
On the way back, Fu Ziqing finally couldn’t hold back and asked. She had been completely shocked by how Mu Feixue and Chu Fei had been chatting and laughing together at the food stall earlier.
“Not really. To be precise, I’ve only met him once, and we didn’t even exchange a word.” Chu Fei smiled bitterly as he recounted his accidental encounter with Mu Feixue. He didn’t hide anything. Recalling the scene just now, especially the half-smile in Mu Feixue’s eyes when he suggested leaving, he couldn’t help but feel puzzled; that gaze kept echoing in his mind.
“That’s strange. Based on what you’re saying, Mu Feixue is deliberately getting close to you?” Fu Ziqing asked thoughtfully, uncertain.
“Probably not,” Chu Fei shook his head. Considering Mu Feixue’s status, why would he deliberately approach him?
“That’s hard to say. Maybe he wants something from you,” Fu Ziqing said worriedly, looking at Chu Fei. “There’s something I’m not sure if I should tell you.”
“What is it?” Chu Fei smiled.
“Mu Feixue is a very dangerous person. You’d better not get too close to him, or you might get burned.” Fu Ziqing’s expression was serious.
“Are you worried about me?” Chu Fei laughed.
“You’re my fiancé. Of course, I care about you,” Fu Ziqing said softly and naturally.
“Heh.” Chu Fei grinned. Though Fu Ziqing’s expression seemed indifferent, he was secretly happy and nodded. “Don’t worry, I’m not stupid.”
“Good.” Fu Ziqing breathed a sigh of relief.
“You seem to know a lot about Mu Feixue,” Chu Fei said, looking at Fu Ziqing with curiosity, surprised by what she said.
“I wouldn’t say I know him well. The Fu family’s business cooperates with the East Sea Alliance, so I’ve come into contact with him twice.” Fu Ziqing became more serious as she looked at Chu Fei. “I only know that there are many rumors about him. Some say he’s a ruthless executioner, others call him a devil. There are many dark whispers about him, each more frightening than the last. In short, he’s an extremely dangerous person.”
“Don’t worry. I probably won’t cross paths with him much,” Chu Fei said cheerfully, seeing that Fu Ziqing was still worried about him. Suddenly, he recalled the cheerful, sexy woman who had been watching him earlier and couldn’t help but ask, “That woman by his side looks familiar. Is she a celebrity?”
“She’s Ye Jiaying, last year’s Hong Kong-Taiwan Best Actress. You don’t know her?” Fu Ziqing gave Chu Fei a strange look. Aren’t men usually attentive to female celebrities? She simply couldn’t believe Chu Fei didn’t recognize Ye Jiaying.
“Is that so? No wonder she looks familiar.” Chu Fei smiled wryly. He’d always felt that woman looked familiar but couldn’t place her until Fu Ziqing mentioned it. Then he vaguely recalled that there was indeed a famous actress by that name, though he didn’t remember much about her.
Soon, he pushed the thought aside and returned to pondering Mu Feixue’s unusual behavior today.
Why was Mu Feixue so affectionate with him?
Chu Fei mulled over this question the entire way back but found no answer.
Only when they arrived at Xinghai Garden residential complex did he give up the wild thoughts. Walking side by side with Fu Ziqing into the small villa’s living room, they found it empty. Fu Ziqing headed straight to the bedroom door on the first floor and knocked gently.
After waiting for more than ten seconds, the door opened from inside. A woman in a black bathrobe stepped out—it was Xiao Jing. Even though Chu Fei held resentment toward her, he couldn’t deny that Xiao Jing, now out of her professional attire and draped in a silky robe, was a beauty—elegant and alluring.
Of course, Chu Fei glanced only briefly before averting his eyes.
“Ziqing, what’s the matter?” Xiao Jing didn’t even look at Chu Fei and addressed Fu Ziqing directly.
“Xiao Jing, I heard you hadn’t had dinner, so Chu Fei and I packed some crayfish for you. They’re quite tasty, just a bit spicy.” Fu Ziqing held up a plastic bag in front of her.
Only then did Chu Fei realize that when Fu Ziqing had the young man with the limp pack two portions of crayfish before they left, it was for Xiao Jing—not because Fu Ziqing was addicted and bringing some home for herself, as he had thought.
Fu Ziqing really cared about Xiao Jing, even remembering to bring her food.
And the two of them actually lived together?
Chu Fei was surprised. Their relationship seemed more than just master and servant; it was more like sisters.
“Thank you,” Xiao Jing said with a radiant smile but still didn’t glance at Chu Fei.
“Alright, Xiao Jing, take your time eating. It’s late, so I won’t disturb you anymore,” Fu Ziqing said with a smile.
“Mm.” Xiao Jing took the crayfish and turned back inside.
“It’s getting late.” Fu Ziqing turned to the staircase but paused, looking at Chu Fei oddly. “What are you standing there for? Come upstairs with me. It’s late; we should get some sleep.” Her voice was natural as she turned and ascended the steps.
“Oh!” Chu Fei nodded blankly and followed Fu Ziqing upstairs. When she opened a bedroom door and stepped inside, he couldn’t help but ask, “Hey, where am I sleeping tonight?” He stood at the doorway, unmoving.
“Of course, you’re sleeping in the same room as me,” Fu Ziqing said matter-of-factly and walked inside.
“Sleeping in the same room as you?” Chu Fei’s eyes widened as he stared at Fu Ziqing, now already inside the bedroom, his expression a mixture of surprise and something else unspoken.
“There are only two bedrooms in this villa. I sleep upstairs, Xiao Jing sleeps downstairs. If you’re not sleeping with me, do you want to go down and sleep with Xiao Jing?” Fu Ziqing turned back, looking baffled at Chu Fei still standing by the door, as if his question were foolish.
“That’s not what I meant...” Chu Fei finally snapped out of it. Looking at Fu Ziqing’s stunning face and graceful figure less than two meters away, his heart suddenly warmed.
His mind raced. Of course, he wouldn’t go to Xiao Jing’s room unless he wanted to die. But what did Fu Ziqing mean? Was she planning to... spend the night with him?
The more he thought about it, the hotter he felt, his gaze turning burning.
Fu Ziqing shivered under Chu Fei’s intense stare, especially as he appraised her body openly. She felt like a wolf was sizing her up. Her thoughts raced, and she flushed deeply, quickly explaining, “I meant for you to sleep in the same room with me, nothing else. Don’t misunderstand.”
“I don’t misunderstand!” Chu Fei laughed heartily as he stepped into the room and casually closed the door behind him. His eyes held a deeper meaning. Of course, he knew Fu Ziqing didn’t mean what he imagined. But the thought of sharing a room with East Sea City’s most beautiful woman still excited him immensely.
“Okay, I’ll take a shower first, then it’ll be your turn,” Fu Ziqing said. She didn’t dare meet Chu Fei’s eyes, quickly turning and stepping into the bathroom. Her hurried footsteps made her seem like a fleeing rabbit.
Chu Fei was thrilled, watching Fu Ziqing’s graceful back retreat. He thought, “Heavens, is this happiness coming too fast?”
He sighed inwardly.
He suddenly recalled what Fu Ziqing had said while holding the crayfish. He wasn’t sure whether posting a video of Fu Ziqing eating crayfish would get him killed, but he was absolutely certain that posting a photo of them sharing a room would bring hundreds, maybe thousands, of people hunting him down...
—
Half an hour later, Fu Ziqing finally emerged from the bathroom, fresh and only wearing a white bathrobe—though a thick one that only hinted at the outline of her figure, far less seductive than Xiao Jing’s black silk robe downstairs.
Chu Fei felt a bit disappointed.
He had hoped to witness the alluring image of a beauty fresh from her bath.
“It’s late. Hurry up and shower. There are pajamas prepared in the bathroom cabinet,” Fu Ziqing said with steady composure, calmly drying her still-damp hair while moving aside.
“Alright, I’m coming,” Chu Fei nodded and moved toward the bathroom.
Upon entering, he was startled by its size—it was almost as large as the bedroom. Most striking was the huge, high-end double massage bathtub. He wondered if Fu Ziqing had spent so long soaking and massaging in it.
Looking at the pristine tub, he instinctively fantasized about Fu Ziqing sitting naked inside.
Especially since it was clearly a two-person tub—was she planning to share baths with him in the future?
Or was she soaking there with Xiao Jing?
He couldn’t take it.
Just three seconds of fantasy made his whole body flush. He hurriedly turned on the shower to cool his head. He wanted to test if the massage bathtub was truly relaxing, but feared that soaking might burst his blood vessels. The thought of Fu Ziqing and Xiao Jing together in the tub stirred his blood to a fever pitch...
What a beast!
As he washed, Chu Fei scolded himself silently for his shamelessness. Fantasizing about Fu Ziqing was one thing—she was his fiancée. But why did images of that woman Xiao Jing keep popping into his mind?
—
Fu Ziqing’s shower lasted half an hour.
Chu Fei took nearly twenty minutes, most of which he spent under cold water to calm himself down. Only after fully regaining his composure did he steel himself to step out, only to find Fu Ziqing already dried her hair and nestled under the covers. She was leaning against the headboard, casually flipping through a magazine. Hearing the door, she glanced at Chu Fei and gently bit her lip but said nothing.
Seeing the curves outlined beneath the thin blanket, Chu Fei’s heart fluttered again. He nervously asked, “So, where exactly am I sleeping tonight?” He looked at the bed, then at the sofa near the balcony floor-to-ceiling window, silently hoping Fu Ziqing wouldn’t be cruel enough to make him sleep on the sofa.
Fu Ziqing said nothing but glanced briefly at the bed beside her, then back at Chu Fei, still silent.
He understood her meaning immediately. His heart warmed as he approached the bed but hesitated before climbing in, his gaze complicated as he looked at Fu Ziqing.
“What’s wrong?” Fu Ziqing asked, puzzled. “Are you afraid of me?”
“Afraid of you? Ha!” Chu Fei laughed twice, grabbed the covers, but still didn’t get in immediately. He was genuinely afraid—not of Fu Ziqing, but that he might not be able to resist and would overwhelm her...
Heaven above!
Chu Fei groaned inwardly but caught the subtle hint of disdain curling Fu Ziqing’s lips. Gritting his teeth, he pulled up the covers and slid in.
The next moment, a shuddering sigh escaped his lips...
So smooth!
[The fourth update is finally here. Writing this was exhausting—the scenes with the city’s top beauty are really hard to write, especially trying to keep the tone subtle and ambiguous without ruining it! Now that it’s done, are you satisfied?]
