Chapter 108: Could There Be a Woman Hidden in the Room?
Chapter 108: Could There Be a Woman Hidden in the Room?
“Chu Fei, get up, it’s time to eat!”
A sudden knocking at the door woke Chu Fei from a deep sleep. When he opened his eyes, he found a delicate, charming face smiling teasingly at him from his embrace—she had also been awakened.
“Don’t make a sound. I’ll get her to leave first,” Chu Fei whispered, lowering his voice.
He gently released the enticing figure in his arms, slipped down to the floor, dressed quickly, and stepped out of the room, swiftly closing the door behind him…
“Huh? Why did you close the door so hurriedly? Don’t tell me there’s a woman hiding in your room?” Ximen Lu asked suspiciously as she peeked inside.
“How did you know there’s a woman in my room?” Chu Fei remained calm and strong, though secretly amazed at Ximen Lu’s uncanny intuition—it was almost supernatural.
“Really? There’s a woman hiding? Let me see what she looks like,” Ximen Lu said, moving closer.
Chu Fei’s heart jumped as he pondered how to refuse, but before he could react, Ximen Lu turned toward the tea table and urged, “Hurry up and eat, then go to work.”
Chu Fei let out a sigh of relief; he had truly feared she would barge into his room. This woman was terrifyingly perceptive.
“I have some things to handle today, so I’ll head to the company later,” Chu Fei said as he sat down.
“Trying to skip work again today?” Ximen Lu’s eyebrows shot up in anger as she glared at him. In her impression, Chu Fei had never been serious about work, especially these past few days when he often seemed to vanish without a trace.
“I’m just asking for leave from you. Besides, I’m only going a little late, not skipping entirely,” Chu Fei smiled, ignoring her anger.
Ximen Lu gritted her teeth in frustration but said nothing more. Deep down, she sometimes felt their relationship was unusual—not quite landlord and tenant, not superior and subordinate, not even like old classmates. She never regarded Chu Fei as an employee or subordinate, and Chu Fei, straightforward as always, never took her seriously as the company boss.
In the end, she resigned herself, “Fine, but you must manage the business team properly. Don’t let the company down.”
“Don’t worry. My team will never hold the company back,” Chu Fei said confidently, thinking to himself that with Zhang Qing handling things, everything was running smoothly. Only recently had he realized Zhang Qing’s strong business acumen and management skills—previously untapped—now thriving with room to grow. She managed the team more efficiently than he ever had, allowing him to truly relax and be a hands-off boss.
“By the way, you’re not still planning to use connections to meet that bank guy Huang Shiren today, are you?” Chu Fei asked casually while eating.
“What else can I do?” Ximen Lu’s face darkened. Sober now, she was no longer the reckless woman from yesterday but even more worried.
“Using connections is fine, but don’t drink with those people or go to nightclubs. If anything goes wrong, you’ll regret it,” Chu Fei warned, looking up.
Ximen Lu was taken aback by his concern, then burst into laughter, her gloomy expression brightening into playful charm. “What, you’re worried about me? Afraid someone will take advantage?”
“I’m just being honest. If you don’t listen, that’s on you. Don’t come crying if you get hurt,” Chu Fei said lazily.
Surprisingly, Ximen Lu didn’t retort immediately. She looked at him silently for a moment, then nodded softly, “Okay, I’ll listen to you.” Her voice was gentle, like a good-natured wife.
Chu Fei was stunned. It was the first time she had spoken so tenderly—and he wondered what she was up to now.
“Don’t look at me like that. You think I want to drink with them? I have no choice. The company is short on funds. Ugh, never mind, I’m just stressed. I’ll try to find another way today. If all else fails, I’ll sue them. At worst, I’ll give up this golden growth phase,” she said through gritted teeth, exuding a desperate, reckless air.
“Don’t be so impatient. I’ll think of something to help with the loan,” Chu Fei comforted her. He could tell Ximen Lu was genuinely anxious, losing her usual composure—a natural reaction given their startup was in a crucial growth period. Despite verbal agreements with several partners through Qingyan Studio, the funds had yet to arrive. Anyone in Ximen Lu’s position would be frustrated.
“Do you really have a solution?” Ximen Lu doubted.
“Have you forgotten how we got our current office space?” Chu Fei winked.
“Did you go to your bedmate again?” Ximen Lu realized, then shook her head without hesitation. “Forget it, I’ll handle my own affairs. You don’t need to worry.”
Chu Fei looked at her puzzled.
“I’m full. I’m off to work. You better get to the company on time. If you keep disappearing, I might really get mad and fire you!” Ximen Lu stood, grabbed her purse, and sashayed out.
This workaholic.
Chu Fei sighed, not overthinking, and took his remaining breakfast back to the bedroom…
“Hehe, food! I’m starving!”
The blonde enchantress in the bed suddenly jumped out, ignoring her disheveled state and the possibility of exposure. She grabbed a fried egg and stuffed it into her mouth, swallowing it in a few bites.
“Slow down, no one’s stealing from you,” Chu Fei chuckled, watching the ravenous beauty sitting at the head of the bed. He frowned. “How did you get so hungry? How long have you gone without eating?”
“I’ve been hiding here since yesterday evening, wanting to surprise you. I didn’t eat anything all that time,” the blonde smiled after finishing the last slice of egg. “You wore me out so much, I didn’t want to move at all. I was almost starving.”
Chu Fei felt unexpectedly touched. He reached out and pulled the blanket over her shoulders, then asked, “Mei’er, when are you leaving after this visit?”
“I’m not going back this time,” she said with a smile.
“—”
The blanket slipped silently from Chu Fei’s hand, and his smile froze.
“What? You don’t want me to stay with you?” Mei’er noticed the change in his expression and pouted unhappily.
“That’s not what I meant, I—”
Before Chu Fei could finish, Mei’er interrupted.
“I know you’re afraid I’ll cling to you. I’ve always known, but don’t worry, this time I won’t be a bother,” she said cheerfully, carefree.
“That’s not what I meant—”
“Uh, I’m full now—”
Suddenly, Mei’er let out a belch, then with sparkling blue eyes fixed on Chu Fei, tilted her head and asked, “Chu Fei, I remember an old Chinese saying… what was it? Oh right, ‘when one is well fed and warm, one thinks of lustful things.’ It means once you’re full, you want those kinds of things. Hehe, it’s so true—I just ate and now I want to be with you.”
With that, she leaned in and wrapped her arms around Chu Fei’s neck. “Hey, are you full? Want to…?”
“I—” Chu Fei suddenly felt like crying. Really? After three times last night, and now two this morning?
He wanted to say no, but his body quickly betrayed him, stirred by Mei’er’s gentle touch…
Damn it, if it’s coming, so be it!
Chu Fei flipped Mei’er roughly onto the bed…
Soon, the room filled with her melodious moans, enchanting and stirring the blood…
—
By the time Chu Fei arrived at Feilu Company, it was already past ten in the morning. His steps were noticeably unsteady—no surprise, Mei’er’s stamina was overwhelming. She had tangled with him twice more this morning, on top of the three times last night. Any man would be weak-kneed. Chu Fei’s nonchalance was quite impressive.
As for Mei’er, she stayed asleep in her room, saying she would leave when she woke up.
Chu Fei didn’t mind. Mei’er was fiercely independent; even her eldest sister couldn’t control her, let alone him.
What troubled him most was Mei’er’s declaration that she wasn’t leaving this time—yet she hadn’t told him when she would go.
Could she really be staying?
Chu Fei frowned deeply. Aside from everything else, Mei’er’s energy in bed was formidable. If she clung to him every day, he’d be walking on air forever. That frequency…
Chu Fei was a little scared.
Once or twice was fine, but so many times could be deadly.
Just as he entered his private office, Zhang Qing, dressed in a dignified blue suit, pushed the door open and stepped in, holding a document in her hands.
“Chu Fei, here are the revised staff requirements for our team. Take a careful look and see if anything needs changing.”
“You decide,” Chu Fei smiled.
“Chu Fei, you’re really going too far with this hands-off boss act,” Zhang Qing said, used to Chu Fei’s casualness. She was relaxed around him, pretending to be annoyed. She came only to maintain appearances—she didn’t expect him to actually review the files since she handled everything in the team. She knew better than anyone how little Chu Fei did.
“I can’t help it. My subordinates are just that capable,” Chu Fei laughed, not embarrassed in the slightest.
“You’re just making excuses. If you wear me out one day, don’t blame me for charging you medical fees,” Zhang Qing joked. Among all the teams in the company, theirs was easily the most relaxed. Although Chu Fei did little, none of the team looked down on him. Instead, they found him mysterious since everyone knew it was Chu Fei who secured their new office space.
“By the way, Vivi’s been busy with her graduation thesis these past few days and hasn’t come to the company,” Zhang Qing added.
“Got it,” Chu Fei nodded. Murong Wei had already explained by text that she wouldn’t be coming in. Chu Fei felt somewhat relieved—Vivi’s increasingly ambiguous attitude toward him lately was making him uneasy.
“Is Ximen Lu in the office?” Chu Fei asked.
“No. Sister Lu left after eight this morning, probably to handle the loan,” Zhang Qing sighed. Everyone in the company knew about the loan problem. Their recruitment plan, which was supposed to start Monday, was still on hold by Thursday.
“I see. You go ahead and get to work,” Chu Fei said with a darkened expression.
“Okay.”
Zhang Qing glanced curiously at Chu Fei’s sudden change in mood but didn’t ask further and left.
Chu Fei walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, pondered for a moment, then frowned as he took out his phone and dialed.
“Help me investigate someone—Huang Chengren of Donghai Bank in Kun City. The sooner the better…” His voice carried a sharp, commanding edge.
