Chapter 8: When the Big Boss Is in a Bad Mood, Crossing Her Is a Death Wish
Chapter 8: The Boss is in a Bad Mood—Provoking Her is a Death Wish
Before anyone could even see clearly, the man had already been slammed onto the ground by Gu Mang with a shoulder throw.
The expressions of the other young hooligans shifted. Accustomed to being arrogant and domineering, they had never suffered a loss before. Staring at the woman who had struck their brother, they clenched their fists until their knuckles cracked.
"Grab her! Teach her a lesson tonight!" the leader of the group growled through gritted teeth.
Gu Mang watched the three men rushing toward her. Her lips curled into a smirk, her posture lazy and languid, her beautiful eyes narrowing as a cold, sharp light glinted within them.
*Courting death.*
With a sudden, violent kick, she exerted immense force, sending the man in the lead crashing to the ground, unable to even crawl away. She seized the fist of another attacker and, with a sickening *crack*, crushed his wrist bone with such raw strength that he let out a wretched scream.
The last remaining man looked at his three companions lying on the ground. A chill ran down his spine in an instant. Driven by an instinctive sense of danger, he stumbled backward, desperate to flee. Suddenly, a blur moved before his eyes; before he could even register how she had moved, he was seized by a tremendous force, his throat pinned as he was slammed against the hood of a sports car.
Gu Mang planted one long leg onto the hood, her eyes lowered, gazing at the man she held pinned with a vacant, cold expression. A faint, wicked red flickered in the depths of her eyes, as if stained with blood.
The man was frantic, his entire body turned to jelly from terror. Cold sweat streaked down his face, and he didn't even dare to speak.
Gu Mang’s expression remained indifferent, her upturned eyes sharp and rebellious. "You’ve got a lot of nerve."
The man stammered, "I... I’m sorry..."
Gu Mang watched his pallid, terrified face and laughed softly. "Learn how to be a decent person. Understand?"
"I... I understand..."
Gu Mang released her grip, lowered her leg from the car, and shoved her hands back into her pockets.
Gu Si watched the men on the ground wailing in agony and let out a chuckle. He stepped forward and delivered a kick, his young voice laced with a cynical, roguish tone. "I’m telling you, you really are blind. Of all people to provoke, you had to pick us. Life is already short enough, yet you insist on taking a shortcut to the grave."
His sister was in a foul mood, and these idiots had to go and bump into her. It was only because his sister was feeling merciful that they weren't beaten to the point of questioning their very existence.
Gu Mang pulled a lighter and a cigarette from her pocket. Her beautiful, calloused fingers held the cigarette as she lit it. She cast a careless glance toward the open window of a second-floor private room at Tianque, her gaze lingering for a few seconds before she looked away.
She walked forward at a measured, unhurried pace. She was arrogant to the very marrow of her bones.
...
In the second-floor private room, three men had watched the entire fight.
No, it wasn’t a fight. It was a one-sided slaughter.
He Yidu and Qin Fang were struck with awe.
"Are young girls these days all this fierce?" Qin Fang stroked his chin, his expression one of disbelief.
He Yidu clicked his tongue in wonder. "Kicking a six-foot-tall man flat with one strike—is she even human?"
Lu Chengzhou wore a shallow smile, his cold, distant eyes fixed on Gu Mang’s retreating figure, smoke curling around his fingertips. The little girl wasn't very old, yet she had already picked up smoking.
...
Lu Yi, currently in her third year of high school, stepped out of the study after finishing her homework. She saw two strangers heading to the third floor. The girl’s face was incredibly striking.
Her gaze paused. "Mom, who is that?" she asked Lin Zhou, who was walking over with a midnight snack.
Lin Zhou glanced at the third floor. "They are your father’s guests."
"How could my father’s guests be people like that?" Lu Yi frowned. "Are they just some poor relatives coming to our house to freeload?"
