Main Text, Chapter 93: Girls' Dormitory
“Xi Yi, how are you feeling now? I still have matters to finish, and I’m sorry I can’t stay with you,” Ye Fei said over the phone, trying to comfort her.
“Ye Fei, I’m fine. Don’t worry about me. Go and handle your business,” Xi Yi replied, though her words were against her heart. She dearly wished he could remain by her side, but she also understood that what Ye Fei was doing now seemed important, so she said things meant to reassure him. In truth, she simply did not want to add to his burden.
“I understand,” Ye Fei said, and ended the call.
What could give the girls the greatest comfort was for him to finish the task as soon as possible and return. As for the matters at school, Zhang Xiaoxiao and the others were, after all, only young girls, and Ye Fei had not truly become entangled with them in any substantial way. He believed that after he left, they would likely remain downcast for a while before quickly moving on. Because of that, he did not feel much psychological pressure over it.
“Someone is following me.”
Ye Fei put away his phone and quickly realized that someone seemed to be tracking and investigating him.
“Which faction is it? Never mind. I’ll just watch and wait, and meet change with stillness.”
At once, Ye Fei relaxed. He acted as though he had noticed nothing at all, then got into a car and headed to Zhong Yuhan’s porridge shop for the final palm-rubbing massage of the morning.
After Ye Fei left by car, a man dialed Li Wang and relayed the situation, then continued, “The target has already taken a car and left via Masong Avenue. Should we keep tracking him?”
“Masong Avenue? That’s the direction of the porridge shop. It looks like he’s gone to find that girl student,” Li Wang mused. “Forget it. Don’t press too hard for now. The target has good skills and may have received professional training. If we make too many unusual moves all at once, he may notice. Come back for the moment.”
The man then left directly.
After Ye Fei helped Zhong Yuhan with the final rubbing massage, Zhong’s mother insisted that he stay for lunch. Then, since it would be Monday the next day and they had to return to class anyway, and because Zhong Yuhan’s injured hands made things inconvenient, she simply had her go back to school with Ye Fei that afternoon so he could help carry her things.
When they entered the girls’ dormitory, the dorm matron stopped them. Zhong Yuhan had no choice but to show her injured hands before the matron agreed to let Ye Fei carry her things upstairs.
However, once they reached the room, an awkward surprise awaited them. Zhong Yuhan had not expected her roommate to be changing clothes inside the dorm. A bare round of her backside and a half-exposed, delicate bosom were all caught completely by Ye Fei’s eyes.
“Xiao Han… ah—Ye Fei—”
The girl was clearly stunned as well. Zhong Yuhan had never shown up in the dorm on weekends before, so no one expected her to come back before Monday. Then the girl saw Ye Fei coming in with the luggage and, realizing her own state, she cried out and hurriedly covered her chest with her clothes before fleeing to the dorm bathroom.
“Uh, I, I saw nothing,” Ye Fei said guiltily. Still, that roommate of Zhong Yuhan’s really did have a good figure, fair and full and well-shaped.
At a time like this, Zhong Yuhan did not know what to say and could only stand there awkwardly.
After a while, Liu Zixuan came out dressed properly, and very conservatively at that. Her usual style was nothing like this; she normally dressed in a sexy, cool, revealing fashion. But what had just happened was far too embarrassing, and she no longer dared dress lightly in front of Ye Fei, at least not for the moment.
“Zixuan, let me introduce you. This is Ye Fei. Uh, he, my hands were injured, so he helped me carry my things back to the dorm,” Zhong Yuhan explained.
“I know, I know. Ye Fei, the famous man on campus,” Liu Zixuan said, trying to hide her embarrassment.
On Liu Zixuan’s bed, several bras and pairs of underwear had been tossed about carelessly. When she saw Ye Fei’s gaze pass over them, Liu Zixuan quickly lowered her head, cheeks red, and hurriedly gathered them all up and put them away.
“Oh, right, Xiaohan, why did you come back to school today? I’ve never seen you in the dorm on a weekend before,” Liu Zixuan said, changing the subject.
Ye Fei knew this was not the right moment for him to speak, so he simply stood quietly to the side, sparing Liu Zixuan further embarrassment.
Seeing her friend’s discomfort, Zhong Yuhan set Ye Fei aside and smiled. “My hands were injured, and Ye Fei happened to come visit me. My mom thought it would be convenient for me to return to school with him, and he could help carry my things.”
“Ye Fei went to see you? You two?” Liu Zixuan asked curiously.
“Zixuan, don’t misunderstand. Something happened at my family’s porridge shop, and Ye Fei happened to run into it and helped us. Then he found out my hands were injured, so he just helped me,” Zhong Yuhan explained quickly.
“Something happened at your family’s porridge shop? Wasn’t Cao Bing always…” Liu Zixuan said in confusion, before suddenly coming to a realization. “I get it. I never thought Cao Bing would be so petty. Xiaohan, don’t be afraid. If anything happens to your family from now on, come to me. I’ll help you. Let’s see what Cao Bing can do to you.”
Ye Fei glanced at Liu Zixuan. It seemed that plenty of people knew about what Cao Bing had done to Zhong Yuhan.
“Thank you, Zixuan,” Zhong Yuhan said moved.
“You’re welcome. We’re best sisters, after all,” Liu Zixuan said generously.
At that moment, the dorm matron hurriedly came up the stairs. Seeing Ye Fei, she loudly said, “Hey, you there, male student, you’ve been up here this long. Why are you still not downstairs and gone?”
“Heh,” Ye Fei chuckled, then said to Zhong Yuhan, “It’s not very convenient here. I’ll go first.”
“Ye Fei, thank you,” Zhong Yuhan said.
Only after seeing Ye Fei turn and head downstairs did the dorm matron finally breathe a sigh of relief. She had been waiting downstairs the whole time and still had not seen him come out, which had made her terribly uneasy. She had begun to suspect that Ye Fei and Zhong Yuhan might be doing something improper in the dorm; otherwise, how could it take so long just to carry luggage upstairs? That was why she had rushed up in a hurry.
“Haa, I’m mortified, Xiaohan…” Liu Zixuan let out a long breath and looked at her friend.
“Zixuan, I’m sorry. I didn’t expect you to be changing clothes in the dorm,” Zhong Yuhan said. She had not been in the dorm herself, so she had not known that her friend would be so relaxed and carefree there on weekends.
“Forget it. It’s fine now. Let’s just consider it a bargain for Ye Fei,” Liu Zixuan said.
“Hee hee, Zixuan, don’t worry. Ye Fei said he didn’t see anything,” Zhong Yuhan said with amusement.
“What?” Liu Zixuan’s eyebrows shot up. Furious, she snapped, “He saw both the front and the back, and he still says he saw nothing? Does that mean he had to sit down and slowly look over everything before it counts? Hmph, I’m so mad—”
“That damned Ye Fei, and he even dares to deny it.”
Zhong Yuhan could not help laughing. Liu Zixuan was a bit scatterbrained at times, saying anything without the slightest restraint, and she had managed to turn the whole incident into something almost comical.
Seeing that her friend had recovered her cheerful manner again, Zhong Yuhan teased her, “Zixuan, your style of dress today doesn’t really match your usual taste, does it? This outfit is far too conservative.”
“You little brat, Xiaohan, daring to tease me?” Liu Zixuan said in mock anger, reaching out to tickle Zhong Yuhan’s waist.
Zhong Yuhan’s hands were inconvenient today, so she could not fight back and could only beg for mercy again and again. But Liu Zixuan showed no mercy at all. After forcing Zhong Yuhan to confess quite a few things, she finally let her go.
In the afternoon, Liu Zixuan generously invited Ye Fei and Zhong Yuhan to eat together. Ye Fei had nothing to do at school anyway and was only idling about, so he agreed. The two girls, after sharing a meal at the table, seemed to let old grievances dissolve and instead became good friends.
