"Andy, has Ye Fei come in?" After signing off on a document, Shuman Yun remembered and asked.

Andy shook his head. "Chairwoman Shu, Ye Fei hasn't been here."

Shuman Yun nodded. As she left the company, she glanced once more into the security office at Ye Fei. With two bodyguards escorting her, she got into the car and departed.

"Ye Fei, the chairwoman looked at you again just now. Do you think she's interested in you? If you strike it lucky, don't forget your brothers!" Xiao Li exclaimed excitedly, as if the chairwoman had her eye on him instead.

Ye Fei responded lazily. At that moment, Su Xue finished work and came out of the company, heading straight for the security office.

"Miss... Miss Su..." Xiao Li stammered as he saw Su Xue standing at the door, seemingly looking at him. His heart thumped uncontrollably. My god! Am I about to get lucky today?

"Hello," Su Xue replied casually, then her gaze passed over Xiao Li and landed on Ye Fei.

"Ye Fei, let's go," Su Xue said.

Ah—she's here for Ye Fei.

Xiao Li almost thought he'd misheard, but then he saw Ye Fei nod, change out of his uniform, and leave with Su Xue. From behind, they looked just like a couple.

"What background does this Ye Fei have? Both of the company's top beauties come looking for him!" Xiao Li was dumbfounded, wishing he could kick Ye Fei aside and take his place.

...

After returning home, the two showered separately and sat together in the living room watching TV.

"Good night," Su Xue yawned, checked the time, and retired to her room.

"Good night," Ye Fei replied, lowering the volume of the TV so as not to disturb Su Xue's rest.

Around one in the morning, Ye Fei was sleeping when he suddenly heard a faint sound, as if someone was prying at something.

Ye Fei remained composed, quietly getting out of bed.

There it was again—a soft, intermittent noise. The intruder seemed cautious, moving slowly, pausing frequently, and ready to flee at the slightest sign of alarm.

The sound came from Su Xue’s room. Was someone targeting her? Ye Fei reached into his clothes and somehow produced a nail about the length of a finger. With it, he fiddled with the keyhole, and with a click, the lock that Su Xue had bolted was opened with ease.

Ye Fei gently opened the door just wide enough for him to slip through, then closed it quietly behind him and crept toward Su Xue's bed.

The room was filled with a delicate fragrance. Ye Fei inhaled, a strange smile flickering across his face as he reached the bed. A soft, warm figure lay there, her skin smooth and delicate.

Suddenly, a loud bang came from the windowsill. Even someone as deep a sleeper as Su Xue was startled awake.

Ye Fei reacted instantly, covering Su Xue’s mouth with one hand while pinning her legs with his, then he leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Shh, it's me—Ye Fei. Don’t make a sound."

Ye Fei! What is this scoundrel doing in my bed? Does he mean to…? Su Xue was wearing a thin, sheer nightdress; with the lights off, nothing could be seen, but the fabric had ridden up, revealing her long, smooth legs. Ye Fei was only in his shorts, one hairy leg pressing against her own.

Su Xue tried to struggle, but Ye Fei held her firmly; she could barely move.

Ye Fei also realized the awkwardness—his hand covering her mouth, but his entire arm pressed against her chest, pinning her soft curves beneath him.

"Shh, don’t move. I’ll explain later," Ye Fei whispered urgently.

At the windowsill, after the loud noise, the two burglars hesitated, but hearing nothing unusual in the room, they resumed prying at the window.

"Damn it, be careful! You nearly scared my heart out just now," the blond one hissed, slapping his partner.

His partner, knowing he was at fault, remained silent.

With a click, the window was forced open.

Su Xue, now fully aware, stared wide-eyed at the window.

A black-gloved hand reached cautiously through the gap, fumbling for and undoing the latch. The window swung open.

Su Xue screamed, but Ye Fei’s hand muffled the sound. Immediately after, two figures climbed through the window.

Damn it, when had the security bars been removed?

Ye Fei lay on the bed, poised like a panther stalking its prey. The two burglars were his targets.

"Now," Ye Fei’s eyes flashed. He sprang from the bed, launching himself fiercely at the two thieves. The speed and ferocity of his attack left them no chance to react; both were knocked to the floor.

With swift, decisive blows, Ye Fei struck the first thief’s head, hitting the vulnerable temple and knocking him out instantly.

At the same time, his knee drove upward, slamming into the other’s chin with a sickening crack—those teeth were likely shattered.

The blond had never encountered anything like this. The suddenness of the assault and Ye Fei’s obvious skill left him clutching his mouth in agony, any thought of resistance gone.

"Turn on the light," Ye Fei said to Su Xue.

Wrapping herself in her blanket, Su Xue switched on the light.

"Two petty thieves. Su Xue, see if you recognize them," Ye Fei said, standing guard over the blond, who didn’t dare make a move under Ye Fei’s menacing gaze.

"I don't know either of them," Su Xue replied after studying their faces.

Ye Fei nudged the blond with his foot. "Well? Explain yourselves. Be honest—if your story doesn’t match your friend’s, you won’t have any teeth left."

"I’ll talk! I’ll talk!" the blond wailed.

"We’re affiliated with the Ming Society. Fatty Ming told us that Tiger had his eye on a woman who was snatched from the club, so we wanted to win Tiger’s favor by bringing her back." As he spoke, the blond realized he’d been set up—Fatty Ming never mentioned there’d be such a formidable man here!

"Ming Society. Again," Ye Fei mused. "It seems I was born to clash with them." He revived the unconscious thief, who gave the same story, confirming the truth.

Su Xue, hearing they were from the Ming Society, felt more certain than ever that keeping Ye Fei around was the right choice. Otherwise, who knows how many times she would have fallen into their clutches?

Somehow, looking at Ye Fei now, he didn’t seem so annoying anymore—in fact, she felt unexpectedly safe with him.
