“Master? That’s impossible! Wu Ming now belongs to the Nine-Tailed Spirit Fox clan, and if we go, we’ll be at a disadvantage. Besides, she still holds our sect’s treasured artifact, the Mountain and Sea Mirror!” Bao Long warned Ling Mei kindly.

“Let him try. I refuse to believe he’d dare kill you!” Ling Mei replied angrily.

Bao Long almost broke down upon hearing this. “What does that mean? Why me? Are you implying…” he stammered.

Xiao Mei chimed in, “It’s you, of course! We’ll go together. You’ll disrupt their wedding, and in the chaos, we’ll extract Wu Ming. Meanwhile, we’ll get some fresh blood from the Nine-Tailed Fox. That way… hehehe, we’ll have everything! And we’ll finally have a way to deal with Wu Ming…”

“But… but…” Bao Long hesitated. It was clearly a trap, a suicide mission, and he couldn’t understand what Ling Mei was thinking. “No, no, I can’t. What if something goes wrong?”

“What if? If something goes wrong, you die!” Ling Mei, utterly fed up with Bao Long’s dithering, issued a direct order. “It’s settled. We’ll head out soon and attend the wedding first. Music and Xiao Mei, don’t forget to grab some food while rescuing people. We’ll eat on the way back. Qingqiu isn’t a place to linger, and we’ll have to pass through the Dark Forest.”

“Yes!” Music and Xiao Mei replied in unison, accepting the task, while Bao Long still dragged his feet.

“Bao Long, are you planning to betray the sect? Don’t think you’re safe now. I could exile you to the land of strange beasts!” Ling Mei threatened him outright, clearly ready to use her authority.

Bao Long had no choice but to nod in agreement.

At last, the group set out toward the site of the grand wedding.

Fox Immortal Valley

A lively procession, carried on palanquins and accompanied by music, paraded through Butterfly Valley. Wu Ming rode a horse, flaunting their union, making all the men and women in the valley envy the couple as they passed back and forth.

“First bow to Heaven and Earth…”

“Second bow to the elders…”

“Third bow, husband and wife…” At this moment, Bao Long, resigned to his fate, began to act as Ling Mei commanded.

“Raise your hands! Or I’ll blow your brains out…” Bao Long, clearly influenced by too many crime dramas, drew the attention of countless onlookers. Naturally, he was the first to be subdued by the Fox Immortal Valley people. In no time, Bao Long was tied up like a dumpling.

“Useless…” Ling Mei stamped her foot in anger.

“Are you the clown invited by the monkeys?” Wu Ming muttered inwardly. “Do you know what I’m about to do? You traitor… conspiring with Senior Sister Ling Mei. Luckily, I was prepared…”

“Husband and wife, bow…” Wu Ming took Ling Yue’s hand and completed the ritual, sealing their union.

“Stop right there…” Xiao Mei finally lost her patience. “You, Song Shao, who betrays your teachers and ancestors—have you turned your back on the sect for this fox spirit?”

Wu Ming was stunned by the accusation. “Xiao Mei, why are you acting like Bao Long?”

“Don’t call me Senior Sister! You betrayed the sect for a woman, colluding with Bao Long to steal the Mountain and Sea Mirror. Don’t think I don’t know!” Xiao Mei spoke sternly, posing this seemingly grave question.

“Hey, hey, hey… This is Qingqiu. It’s not your place to speak, you seductive demon!” Yuan Feng stepped forward, his sword flashing.

“You think we fear you, One Qi Sect? We didn’t fear you two hundred years ago, and we don’t fear you now!” Wu Ming was bewildered. While Xiao Mei and Yuan Feng faced off, he prepared to slip away quietly.

“Yue’er, I’ll leave for now. When Senior Sister Master arrives, I’ll be in trouble. She’s hard to deal with…” Wu Ming whispered to Yue’er as he led her away, and she followed him, escaping the chaotic wedding scene.

“Oh dear, Ghost Doctor, look at what Wu Ming is doing!” Ling Long watched in confusion.

“Stop right there!” the two women shouted from behind, and Wu Ming’s foot was suddenly tripped by something.

“Ouch… spare me! I’m not Song Shao! I’m Wu Ming! Wu Ming!” Music ignored his pleas, unconcerned since the Master would bear the consequences. Ling Yue, seeing Wu Ming fall, angrily lifted her veil and glared at Music.

“Ah? Truly a beautiful lady! Sorry, let’s go together!” Music said, then swept both of them into the human bag Ling Mei had prepared.

The operation was swift and efficient. Before Ling Mei could act, Music had already completed the task and immediately launched a signal flare. Before anyone understood what was happening, Xiao Mei leapt away and escaped.

“What’s happening!” Yuan Feng had only faced off for two minutes.

“Hurry, pursue them! Second Sister has been abducted again…” Ling Xuan saw it all. She thought they’d only kidnap Wu Ming, but unexpectedly, Ling Yue was taken too.

“What? Second Sister?” Yuan Feng finally realized and rushed after them.

“There’s no other way! One Qi Sect, you won’t escape… even if you flee to the human realm… hehehe,” Ling Xuan laughed wickedly and headed toward her palace. She ordered, “Proceed as planned. Send that bag to the Demon Prison!”

“Yes, Valley Master…” With that, Bao Long was carried to the Demon Prison.

The Demon Prison was the most terrifying place in the spirit world—not physically dangerous, but a realm of torment for the soul.

At the boundary of the Dark Forest and Qingqiu…

Xiao Mei, Music, and Ling Mei sped ahead, using their powers in flight, with Yuan Feng chasing on his sword. The abundant spiritual energy in this place was remarkable, making Music thoroughly enjoy the sensation—until reality set in.

“Master! They’re pursuing us… what should we do?” Music asked urgently.

Ling Mei shouted, “Drought Fire Rupture!” Instantly, the ground’s temperature soared, and magma-like eruptions appeared—Ling Mei’s signature move. In the human realm, such a technique would drain her spiritual power and kill her, but here, with energy plentiful, she dared use it to block their pursuers.

“Xiao Mei, Music, quickly… release Wu Ming. We’ll use the Mountain and Sea Mirror to return!” Ling Mei shouted.

With a whoosh, Wu Ming was released, and Ling Yue came out with him.

“Keep an eye on the woman! Wu Ming, if you wish to live, take us away now!” Ling Mei had no time for gradual expulsion from the sect, nor did she care about Bao Long.

“But Bao Long is still…” Wu Ming, still honorable, hesitated. But to these women, now bloodthirsty, his words meant nothing.

“Hurry up! Stop dithering! Do you want to die?!” Ling Mei barked at Wu Ming, startling him.

“Alright…” In a flash, the Mountain and Sea Mirror shone with white light, enveloping everyone present. They all entered the traversing space together.

“Stop right there…” Yuan Feng thrust his sword, but it struck only empty air. Wu Ming, Second Sister, Ling Mei, Music, and Xiao Mei had all vanished.

“Where did they go? What is this?” Yuan Feng was bewildered. In the Dark Forest, his spiritual power would soon run dry, so the best course was to retreat; otherwise, strange beasts would quickly arrive. “Fall back! We can’t stay here!” The group followed Yuan Feng back to Qingqiu to meditate and replenish their spiritual energy.

“Oh my!” Music exclaimed, raising her head as they finally returned to the guest house.

Wu Ming now seemed as foolish as a child—deaf and blind, utterly lost. “Is everyone safe? If you are, write a word on my palm!”

“Husband? You…” Ling Yue looked at Wu Ming and suddenly noticed something was wrong. She waved her jade hand before his eyes, but Wu Ming showed no reaction—he was completely blind.

“Stop calling him. He’s blind now, and deaf as well! Probably lost his sense of smell, too; otherwise, he wouldn’t be like this…” Music, ever talkative, explained.

“Ah? What happened?” Ling Yue wanted to ask, but Music and Xiao Mei had already retreated to their own rooms. Ling Mei wrote on Wu Ming’s palm, “Master Wu, Senior Sister is safe,” then turned to rest, likely exhausted from spiritual power depletion.

Only Wu Ming and Ling Yue remained in the room.

“Yue’er, are you alright?” Wu Ming spoke as he reached out into the air.

“Husband, Yue’er is fine…” Ling Yue grabbed Wu Ming’s hand, tears streaming down her cheeks.
