“As expected, brilliant! That time-walking girl will definitely go looking for Wu Ming, so we’ll just… ha! This is genius, pure genius!” The Blood Prince, clad in red, truly admired his companion to the core.
“My friend, you still don’t get it. This poison was made especially for him. You saw it for yourself—those people around him, especially the women, every one of them is formidable, yet Wu Ming himself is a complete good-for-nothing. How he became sect leader is beyond me.” The Poison Prince frowned as he spoke to the Blood Prince.
“Is that so? I noticed it too—he’s practically a monk reciting scriptures. You should thank my little blood bugs; if they hadn’t drained so much blood from everyone, we’d never have tracked down the trail of this sect. All in all, we stumbled upon it by luck. Now all we have to do is wait.” The Blood Prince boasted smugly, eager to claim the credit.
“Oh, please. You’ll be lucky if you get ten percent of the credit. Don’t flatter yourself. Do you even know how potent this poison is?” The Poison Prince looked at him with utter disdain.
The Blood Prince raised his eyebrows and pouted, asking, “How potent? Don’t exaggerate! What if it’s too strong and Wu Ming dies? Then you’ll be the one in trouble!” He said this with a mocking sneer as he strode ahead.
“Hillbilly! No vision at all! Let me tell you, this poison strips away all six senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought. I gained this insight from a string of Buddhist prayer beads…” The Poison Prince prattled on as he walked, “Are you even listening?”
“Yes, yes, yes, you’re practically a monk yourself now…” The Blood Prince listened with a headache. What was all that nonsense about sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought?
The Poison Prince could only shake his head helplessly, thinking to himself that the Blood Prince was truly a country bumpkin, utterly without knowledge.
Meanwhile, Wu Ming couldn’t stop running to the restroom. A foul stench radiated from him, and his hearing was growing steadily worse. Ling Mei couldn’t take it any longer and pinched her nose as she handed him over to Bao Long.
“Junior brother, please get well soon—even if it’s just for a minute. At least pay the bill before you pass out again, can’t you?” Bao Long was at his wits’ end. If Wu Ming didn’t come to, he’d have to pay the three thousand himself. It wasn’t a huge sum, but it still stung. Now it seemed Wu Ming was intent on sticking him with the bill. He regretted not eating more earlier, but at least he hadn’t ordered the shredded potatoes.
With Wu Ming supported by Bao Long and Xiao Mei, and Ling Mei joining them, they went to the front desk to settle the bill.
“Hello, sir! Your total comes to thirty thousand yuan. Will you be paying by card, cash, or QR code? We can offer a ten percent discount…” A pretty young lady said in a sweet, coquettish voice, which made Xiao Mei fume beside her.
But no one grasped the crux of her words. The next second, Bao Long nearly lost his mind.
“What? Thirty thousand? Wasn’t it three thousand? Are you kidding me?!” Bao Long growled low.

“No, sir. It’s thirty thousand, not three thousand. Here’s your bill—I showed you earlier. Please take another look!” The young woman kept her sugary tone, utterly unruffled.
Bao Long snatched the bill and looked it over carefully. Sure enough, it read thirty thousand. “West Lake Supreme Pot, fifteen hundred… Premium Plum Blossom Sea Cucumber, two thousand…” He read out the items, shooting Ling Mei a furious look as he did, his face turning red.
“Ah, haha… My math isn’t so good, I miscalculated, really… No wonder it tasted so amazing!” Ling Mei grinned shamelessly, savoring the memory of the meal, giving Bao Long a roguish look. Xiao Mei could only shrug, washing her hands of the matter.
At last, Bao Long understood why Ling Mei had never become sect leader. With math skills like that, she’d have to go back to kindergarten for a refresher.
Bao Long regretted not ordering the shredded potatoes. His head spun, even though he hadn’t had a drop of alcohol—sect rules forbade it. He didn’t even have the excuse of pretending to be drunk. Thirty thousand! Even with the discount, it was still twenty-seven thousand! His right hand shook as he handed his credit card to the young woman at the desk, forcing out the words, “C-charge it…”
After paying the bill, Bao Long felt as though his heart had been slashed twenty-seven thousand times. With a herculean effort, he hauled Wu Ming back to the guesthouse arranged by Long San.
“Dear heavens, we finally made it. Junior brother, at last I’m free.” Bao Long collapsed onto the sofa, gasping for breath. Just then, his phone rang. It was a payment from Wu Ming—three thousand yuan, with the note: “Here’s money for the meal, thank you!” Bao Long looked up to speak, but Wu Ming had already darted into the bathroom again, followed by a resounding noise. Bao Long was on the verge of total collapse.
“I’m requesting a room change!!!” Bao Long rushed out the door, shouting. “It’s too disgusting! Oh my god…”
“So pitiful… Director…” Yin Yue, who’d come back early thinking she’d dodged a bullet, could only shake her head. “If the stench doesn’t kill me, you two will with your racket!”
Xiao Mei showed no expression at all, lying on her bed and staring blankly at the ceiling.
“Quit your squabbling! If you can’t keep quiet, you can sleep outside!” Ling Mei was clearly at her limit. “I told you to take care of your junior, and this is how you act? Where’s your compassion? Where’s your conscience? Watch out or you’ll be kicked out of the sect!”
Bao Long was dumbstruck by her scolding. Next door, Yin Yue and Xiao Mei heard everything loud and clear. Xiao Mei was about to argue back, but Yin Yue grabbed her arm. “Don’t do it, sis. If the Director won’t look after the sect leader, should you or should I… or…” Xiao Mei instantly understood and fell silent.
Bao Long stood awkwardly in the hallway. Seeing no one cared, he slunk back into the room, pinching his nose.
“Sect leader, can you please not go on like this?” Bao Long muttered as he walked. “Maybe you should see a doctor—just getting it under control would be something!” But Wu Ming gave no response. Bao Long realized something was wrong and hurried to the bathroom. The stench nearly overwhelmed him.
“Cough, cough…” Bao Long choked violently, but Wu Ming seemed completely unfazed, still occupying the toilet. “Are you trying to scare me to death, sect leader?” Bao Long grumbled, but Wu Ming showed no reaction. That scared Bao Long even more.

Bao Long spun around and dashed out, shouting, “Come quick, something’s happened to the sect leader!”
Ling Mei, Xiao Mei, and Yin Yue rushed into the stinking room at the sound of his cry. “What’s wrong? What happened?” they all asked at once.
Bao Long pointed to the bathroom, shrugged, and said, “The sect leader’s gone dumb! He doesn’t answer when I call, doesn’t react at all!”
“What?” The hot-tempered Ling Mei kicked open the bathroom door, only to shriek, “Ah! Pervert!” She’d caught a full view of Wu Ming in all his glory, scaring herself half to death. Wu Ming, however, acted as if nothing had happened, calmly pulling up his pants.
“What’s wrong with him?” Xiao Mei asked Bao Long.
“I have no idea!” Bao Long replied helplessly.
“Ah! The sect leader seems to be blind and deaf!” Yin Yue finally got something right for once. “Look—he doesn’t even blink, and he can’t seem to hear us no matter what we say.”
Ling Mei waved her hand in front of Wu Ming’s face, confirming it, and called his name, but he didn’t respond. “It’s over—our sect leader’s finished! The whole sect is doomed!” Ling Mei collapsed to the floor in despair.
Bao Long was about to speak, but Xiao Mei shot him a look that silenced him immediately. He’d probably wanted to say, “Let’s split up our belongings and go home!”
“The sect leader has had all six senses stripped away. Next, he might lose his sense of touch. When sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought are all gone, he’ll die!” Yin Yue pouted as she delivered the devastating truth, leaving everyone utterly crushed.
