Chapter 80: Xu Yu or Xu Jing
“This can’t go on. We have to find a way to defeat her,” Qingyan said, sitting on Little Gold’s shoulder, a hint of worry on her face.
Xi Yan was clinging to Little Gold’s back. Little Gold was moving so fast that Xi Yan was struggling to hold on.
“Turn left, stop!” Xi Yan made a snap decision to have Little Gold halt; otherwise, if they were caught, it would mean certain death.
“Stop?” Qingyan echoed.
“Let me get off. Have Little Gold take you somewhere safe. I need to talk to Xu Yu.”
“Are you crazy? She’ll kill you!” There was a trace of concern in Qingyan’s voice.
“Maybe it’s better for one of us to die than both. Let me go. Trust me on this.”
Qingyan turned and saw the resolve in Xi Yan’s eyes. She pressed her lips together and told Little Gold to stop at the spot Xi Yan indicated.
“Qingyan, do you have any cards that can let me move quickly? Lend me one,” Xi Yan requested.
Without hesitation, Qingyan produced a card and handed it to him, explaining, “This one’s single-use. It can instantly boost your speed. Here, take it!”
Xi Yan nodded, and then Little Gold carried Qingyan away.
No sooner had Xi Yan stopped than Xu Yu appeared before him, hand already raised to strike. But Xi Yan drew the “Lightwood Sword” and blocked her attack.
Xu Yu paused, intrigued. She showed no interest in Qingyan, who had gotten away.
“I’m surprised you could block my attack,” Xu Yu said, licking her lips with her tongue.
Xi Yan’s stomach churned again, but he forced himself to speak to Xu Yu. “You’re Xu Jing, aren’t you?”
Xu Yu froze at his words. The next second, she lunged at Xi Yan. He hadn’t expected such a reaction and had no time to defend himself.
Thus, Xi Yan took the full force of her blow. Xu Yu’s hands were no longer human—they resembled cat’s claws.
Her claws tore into his shoulder. Had he not dodged in time, they would have raked his neck, and he would’ve died on the spot.
“Quick reflexes,” Xu Yu sneered, already launching another attack. This time, Xi Yan was prepared and barely managed to avoid her assault.
“You are Xu Jing! Why else would you be so furious?” Xi Yan said while dodging.
Upon hearing this, Xu Yu’s gaze grew fiercer, her attacks faster and more relentless.
Xi Yan could no longer keep up; his shoulder and back were slashed in several places, and Xu Yu was circling for a lethal blow.
Seeing that Xu Yu refused to listen, Xi Yan gritted his teeth and activated the card Qingyan had given him.
“Fleetfoot:
Effect: Raises user’s speed to 150 kilometers per hour, lasts five minutes.
Level: S
Uses: One time.”
Once activated, Xi Yan dashed toward the house they’d seen before, marveling at the card’s speed.
“This is as fast as the old express trains before the apocalypse…”
Because Xi Yan had fled so suddenly, Xu Yu was caught off guard, creating distance between them.
Using this reprieve, Xi Yan reached the house and stood at the door filled with corpses, waiting for Xu Yu to arrive.
He had a theory, but if he was wrong, he’d die here—he had no more Fleetfoot cards left.
Xu Yu caught up quickly. When she saw Xi Yan waiting at the doorway, a flicker of fear crossed her face. She thought she’d hidden it well, but Xi Yan noticed.
Seeing Xu Yu’s fear gave Xi Yan confidence in his deduction.
Xu Yu stopped two meters away, tongue flicking out as she watched him. “Why’d you stop? Run into a dead end?”
“Oh? Really? Then why don’t you come and kill me?” Xi Yan replied lazily.
Xu Yu bristled but didn’t charge, only taunting him further: “You think I can’t? I just don’t want to damage my collection. But if you make me angry, I’ll kill you, collection or not.”
“Weren’t you planning to kill me anyway?” Xi Yan retorted.
Xu Yu was at a loss for words, but still didn’t dare attack.
Seeing her hesitation, Xi Yan was surer than ever of his theory.
“You’re Xu Jing, aren’t you,” he pressed.
Xu Yu narrowed her eyes. “That’s right, I am Xu Jing. How did you know?”
Hearing her confirmation, Xi Yan knew he’d guessed correctly.
“The one missing from the photo is you. The other is Xu Yu. And in this room, the corpse at the back belongs to Xu Yu, right?”
Xu Jing fell silent, eyes fixed on Xi Yan.
“Why hide your sister’s body? And this lab—it’s not yours, it’s hers, isn’t it?” Xi Yan didn’t care whether she answered.
Annoyed, Xu Jing replied, “So what if it is?”
“You’re afraid because your secret is here. What is it? Let me guess.” Xi Yan paced slowly, each step pressing on Xu Jing’s nerves.
“If I destroy the corpses here, will you die too?”
“Don’t you dare!” Xu Jing burst out, but the next instant, seeing Xi Yan’s smile, she realized he’d tricked her into revealing it.
“You—!” Furious, Xu Jing clenched her fists, but everything Xi Yan said was true. She didn’t dare fight him for fear of damaging Xu Yu’s body.
“Enough with the games. Tell me—what’s going on with this amusement park?”
“Don’t dream! I won’t… wait! Stop!” Xu Jing stopped mid-sentence, seeing Xi Yan’s sword at Xu Yu’s neck, and immediately begged for mercy.
“Fine, stop, I’ll talk. Oh, and could you change your appearance? It’s making me uncomfortable,” Xi Yan said with a smile.
Though reluctant, Xu Jing didn’t want to die. She had no choice but to answer.
“This amusement park is just that—an amusement park. Aside from the inside and outside worlds you know, there’s nothing unusual. But as long as I’m inside, I’m the strongest here. I can control my speed and strength!”
“How did you become the Slit-Mouthed Woman?” Xi Yan pressed again.
