“Again?”

The next morning, when Tong Zhenzhen opened her eyes and found Jun Lengche’s face mere inches from hers, she could not help sighing inwardly. She had never expected her plan to get closer to him to turn into repeated encounters in bed.

But had he fallen for her? The thought rose from the depths of her heart and frightened her.

Could the cold and heartless Jun Lengche really develop feelings for her? Tong Zhenzhen found herself studying him carefully.

Face-to-face with her, his expression was no longer cold. Instead, his features were relaxed with contentment. His lips were no longer pressed into a taut line, and the faintest hint of a dimple showed at the corner of his mouth.

At the same time, she felt the arm wrapped around her waist, as though he feared she might vanish. His palm radiated a comforting warmth.

If she made him like her, even fall in love with her, and then cast him aside, would it cause him pain? Would it cause his mother pain? Would it teach her the retribution of cause and effect?

An evil thought rose in her heart. Overwhelmed by hatred, Tong Zhenzhen was willing to become the very kind of person she despised most—someone who toyed with another’s feelings.

What would he look like in agony?

Lost in her imaginings, Tong Zhenzhen unconsciously raised her hand and stroked his face. The resentment in her heart slowly faded.

“Good morning.”

Unexpectedly, Jun Lengche opened his eyes, the corners of his lips curving upward.

“Ah?!”

Tong Zhenzhen jolted. His eyes were far too bright, as if they could see straight through her wicked thoughts. Instinctively, she closed her eyes.

Warm lips brushed her eyelashes, and his breath slipped into her nose.

“Little one, what are you thinking about?” His low, gentle voice caressed her ears like the rich sound of a cello.

Tong Zhenzhen felt the strings of her heart tremble.

Good heavens, how could this man be so gentle? Why did her face feel as though it were burning?

Her cheeks flushed like rosy clouds, making her look unbearably shy. In Jun Lengche’s eyes, she appeared so delicate and endearing that his heart softened. His kisses moved from her eyelashes to her earlobe, red as a vermilion jewel, where he gently nipped and sucked.

A tingling sensation shot through Tong Zhenzhen’s body like an electric current, nearly shaking the hatred from her heart.

“Get away from me! You bastard, you—you—how dare you do it again—”

Tong Zhenzhen suddenly opened her eyes and shoved him forcefully before sitting up. When she realized that she was naked once more, she snatched up the quilt and wrapped it around herself.

At that moment, only a fierce and forbidding exterior could conceal the turmoil within her.

Jun Lengche, who was equally unclothed, sat up. “Little one, you were the one who invited me.”

“What?”

Tong Zhenzhen’s eyes widened, but she did not dare look at him. His flawless body left her uncertain where to focus her gaze. She could only look past him and stare at the window.

“I would never do that. You lecher!”

Tong Zhenzhen’s accusation sounded much braver than she felt.

“Look at me.”

Jun Lengche leaned toward her. One arm encircled her waist while the other tilted her chin upward, forcing her to meet his eyes.

Tong Zhenzhen had no choice but to gaze into his clear, luminous eyes.

“Little one, yesterday you barged into my private room like a drunken kitten. I brought you back here. You were the one who wrapped your arms around me…”

Jun Lengche did not continue describing what happened afterward. Instead, a delighted light danced in his star-bright eyes.

He had realized that Tong Zhenzhen cared deeply about her broken family and was sensitive to others believing she had no upbringing. She also disliked being called “wild girl,” so he had changed the nickname he used for her. It was the first time he had ever cared so much about someone else’s feelings.

Good heavens—it had actually been her initiative!

Tong Zhenzhen froze.

Had her subconscious wanted to sleep with him? Was her desire for revenge simply too strong?

That was the only way she could interpret it now, the only way she could speculate about what she had felt then. Otherwise, she feared she might have to admit that she cared about him.

“Fine, let’s say that’s what happened. You can leave now. What is it—are you waiting for me to pay you?”

Tong Zhenzhen pretended not to care, but her words deliberately compared him to a man who offered special services to women.

“Little. One.”

Jun Lengche forced the three words through clenched teeth, and his expression turned cold.

In truth, he had awakened long ago. He simply had not wanted to disturb her. In sleep, she was like an innocent, untainted infant, making him want to draw closer. Whenever he thought of how she glared coldly at him while awake, he wanted to look at her peaceful face a little longer.

His anger made Tong Zhenzhen’s heart tremble.

Just as she was wondering how to continue, a loud voice suddenly rang out from beyond the window:

“Tong Zhenzhen, I love you!”

At the sound of that nauseating voice, Tong Zhenzhen bit her lip and knitted her brows. She said to Jun Lengche, “We’ll settle our score later! Right now, I have something to deal with!”

Hearing someone declare his love for Tong Zhenzhen out of nowhere completely ruined Jun Lengche’s good mood. He released her, got out of bed, and dressed himself.

Tong Zhenzhen ignored him and hurriedly dressed and washed up. Listening to that loathsome man endlessly proclaim his love for her, she wanted nothing more than to rush outside and tear him to pieces.

“Wait.”

Just as the elevator doors were about to close, Jun Lengche stepped inside as well.

“You certainly have your admirers.”

Tong Zhenzhen heard the sarcasm in his voice. She shot him a fierce glare and stood with her arms crossed.

When they reached the ground floor, she rushed out before the doors had fully opened.

What was going on?

The moment she stepped outside the lobby, Tong Zhenzhen saw a sea of lavender. Romantic purple blossoms swayed gracefully in the sunlight.

Seeing her emerge, Long Tianyu—handsome as a prince from a fairy tale—handed the megaphone to a hulking man named A-Qiang. Then, holding a red rose, he approached with elegant composure.

“You’re sick!”

The scene that onlookers considered deeply romantic earned only Tong Zhenzhen’s open contempt.

Long Tianyu was unfazed. His gaze shifted, and tenderness seemed to spill from his phoenix-shaped eyes.

“Zhen’er, from today onward, you will be the only one in my heart!”

“What a joke. You have a wife. What right do you have to say that? Get lost!”

Unwilling to waste even a second on Long Tianyu, Tong Zhenzhen unleashed a roar loud enough to shake the heavens.

“Zhen’er, there is no hatred in this world without a reason. The more cruelly you treat me, the more it proves that you still love me!”

Long Tianyu stopped in front of her and spoke with stubborn conviction.

What a lunatic!

According to his logic, did hating someone mean she was in love with them?

Tong Zhenzhen gave a cold laugh. “Long Tianyu, it ended between us a long time ago. Don’t—”

Unexpectedly, Long Tianyu did not bother arguing with her. He simply strode forward and reached out to pull her into his arms.

Before Tong Zhenzhen could even blink, Jun Lengche had embraced her and pulled her away from Long Tianyu.

“It’s you!”

The moment he saw Jun Lengche appear, Long Tianyu’s face darkened. His cold eyes narrowed as he snapped, “What gives you the right to meddle?”

Jun Lengche answered with unmistakable force:

“Because I’m her boyfriend!”
