Chapter 29: The Bullying Siblings
Chapter 29: The Bully Siblings
Chen Feng, as one of the earlier veteran investigators to join the Paranormal Investigation Bureau, could be said to have limited skills or bad luck, but never a lack of experience.
Since the barrier between the eerie realm and reality was broken, he had taken part in numerous collective missions into the eerie realm and dealt with many low-level spirits invading the real world. The fact that he was still alive meant he had some ability.
But today, he was panicking.
Most of the spirits in the ward were malevolent ghosts, with some fierce ghosts and a few vengeful spirits—not many, but enough to overwhelm a wandering soul like him.
Worse yet, these beings were dead, yet their traditional virtues seemed deeply ingrained in their souls.
Spectating.
At this moment, he was in a ward where a short, malevolent ghost lounged on the bed with his legs crossed, ignoring the pill pressed to his lips.
At the door, seven or eight grotesque heads peeked in, all watching like it was a show, some even crunching sunflower seeds.
This group not only spectated but occasionally howled to cheer on, with taunts and mockery.
Chen Feng didn't dare utter a word.
As a seasoned but lowly investigator, he knew well that within these jests could lie death rules of certain spirits; one misstep could mean instant death. So he kept his mouth shut.
Thus, the situation froze.
A silent, scared nurse was surrounded by the ghosts, looking like a clown.
Then, a cold female voice rang down the corridor.
“Looks like you’re quite free. I said there should be an exercise program in the ward. Look at you all lively and energetic—how do you expect to recover like this?”
“Back to bed, now!”
“If any of you are still here in ten seconds, I’ll come find each of you to train one-on-one!”
No need for ten seconds; within a few breaths, the bustling crowd scattered like birds.
Han Lingling stepped into the ward, kindly nodding at Chen Feng.
“Are you alright? These little pests just need a good beating.”
Chen Feng was dumbfounded.
Just hours ago she was an ordinary little girl, now she had transformed into a fierce gang leader?
The short malevolent ghost lying on the bed showed similar reactions.
From the moment the voice appeared at the door, he felt a deadly chill in his heart, so frightened that even now as a ghost he was stunned, until Han Lingling rudely kicked his raised foot.
“What do you say?”
The short ghost jumped up from the bed, stood at an extremely awkward attention, very timid.
“B-big sister.”
Han Lingling gave a cold smile. “What, do you want me to feed you?”
“Fine. Here, darling, take your medicine.”
Just as she reached to take the pill from Chen Feng’s hand, the ghost lunged forward, snatching it and hurriedly stuffing it into his mouth. He struggled to swallow, opening his mouth wide to show he had swallowed it.
Han Lingling smiled brightly.
“That’s better. You should’ve cooperated earlier. It wasn’t for nothing I ordered your favorite steamed bread last night.”
“Alright, let’s go. Next stop.” She patted the petrified Chen Feng. “We have to hurry. Once these meds are handed out, there’s still business to discuss with Duan Ming.”
Chen Feng followed out in a daze.
Just stepping out into the corridor, next moment, his heart nearly leapt out of his chest; his eyes and mouth nearly doubled in size.
At the door of the next ward, Duan Ming gently pushed away a scratching Xu Haoran and started banging on the closed door.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Open up! Nurse’s warm welcome!”
Without waiting for a response, he kicked open the door and darted inside.
Chen Feng hurried after him. Soon, he felt the shock of his life in just a few minutes surpassed all his previous experiences.
In his view, Duan Ming was already on the bed, firmly pinning down a ghost.
One hand gripped the ghost’s neck tightly, while the other waved a kitchen knife near the ghost’s lower body.
“I’ll give you two choices: one, obediently take your medicine; two, I’ll cut off your private parts to force you to take it. I’m counting to three.”
The ghost beneath him felt his entire backside tense up, screaming in terror: “I choose to take—”
“Three.”
“Too late.”
Then came a piercing scream.
Chen Feng and Xu Haoran shuddered, clutching their own behinds.
Taking advantage of the ghost’s open mouth during the scream, Duan Ming casually tossed the pill inside.
“Cooperate earlier and you wouldn’t have to suffer such pain.”
“I’ll cooperate—”
“Still dare to curse?!” Another slice.
Poor newly sprouted private parts.
Duan Ming swaggered off the bed, patting the petrified Chen Feng and Xu Haoran.
“Don’t worry, it’s easy to grow back. Just a bit painful—I learned this from a friend.”
“Let’s go, next ward. We need to hurry.”
Duan Ming left on his own; the two investigators exchanged glances, both filled with disbelief.
Though these siblings weren’t blood-related, their styles were identical. If these two bullies really grew up, the eerie realm would surely face a storm of blood and chaos.
But behind their shock was unmistakable excitement.
Duan Ming hadn’t lied.
This was truly a human guardian.
Now they finally understood the earlier arrangements.
The two hurried back to the corridor. Han Lingling had disappeared, probably entering another ward to treat patients. Duan Ming was already at the next door.
“Open up!”
Bang! Bang!
He kicked the door repeatedly, but it was as if cast in iron—completely unmoved.
Duan Ming wiped the sweat on his forehead.
“Sealed with ghost energy, huh? Fine, just wait.”
He ran back to the previous ward and grabbed the wailing ghost still clutching his crotch. With quick steps, he returned.
One hand gripped the ghost’s collar, the other grabbed his waistband. It was clear the ghost was squeezing his buttocks tight.
“W-what do you want?!”
The ghost screamed in horror.
Duan Ming paid no attention, his face serious.
“FBI warning!!!”
He shouted, gathering strength and headbutted the door, which immediately flew open.
Plop.
The tool ghost was thrown carelessly to the floor, one hand clutching his crotch, the other his head, both spinning.
Chen Feng and Xu Haoran followed closely like war correspondents.
Inside the ward were two ghosts, a man and a woman—they were husband and wife.
The husband ghost was clearly frightened, his face full of terror. The terrible giant wound under his ribs opened and closed nervously, emitting a foul stench.
“I’ll take it! I’ll take it! Don’t hit me!”
He eagerly snatched the pill from Duan Ming’s hand and swallowed it.
“And you?”
Duan Ming looked at the wife ghost.
Her power was greater than her husband’s; he was just a malevolent ghost, she was a fierce ghost.
Silently, Duan Ming pulled out red toilet paper for protection.
But strangely, the red toilet paper that had never failed before didn’t scare the wife ghost at all; she just glared at Duan Ming with hatred.
A tough nut.
Killing was impossible, and wasting precious red toilet paper on a fierce ghost was out of the question.
He probed.
[Hint: She deeply loves her husband.]
Oh?
Duan Ming grinned wickedly.
With lightning speed, he jumped onto the husband ghost’s bed, pulling out Jiang Xiaoxiao’s toy gun. He poked it straight into the rib wound, aiming at the heart.
“This shot will at least seriously injure you, right? Even if you recover, it’ll take a lot of ghost energy and time.”
“Madam, you wouldn’t want your husband to lose his heart, would you?”
Gentlemen, show me your hands!!!
