Chapter 12: Jiang Xiaoxiao of Room 403
Chapter 12: Room 403, Jiang Xiaoxiao
Zhao Gangmen exclaimed, “What’s going on? How did I suddenly end up here?”
Duan Ming was embarrassed and remained silent.
Wang Jue said, “Yeah, I just got back to the office and sat down… wait, this aura is…”
“Jiang Xiaoxiao from Room 403!”
“You know her?” Duan Ming hurriedly asked.
“Yeah, I handled a case for her before. But what exactly is going on here?”
Duan Ming explained the whole situation.
“So, you suspect Jiang Xiaoxiao wants to make a move on you?” Wang Jue smiled bitterly. “It’s not impossible. Her favorite pastime is bathing in fresh blood. But ghost blood is impure; to really enjoy it, she needs a large amount. Fresh human blood is different—just yours alone is enough.”
Duan Ming shuddered. “So she deliberately chose the Hungry Ghost’s place to call me over. Even if something happens, she can pin it on this unconscious Hungry Ghost—no witnesses, perfect plan.”
“I’m not going to just sit and wait to die. There are four of us at Ghoul level here. Maybe we can team up and fight?”
“Impossible.” Wang Jue shook his head decisively. “Jiang Xiaoxiao may be a newly risen fierce ghost, but she’s still at the fierce ghost level. The ghost aura alone is on a different scale. We don’t stand a chance.”
He glanced around. “Though she’s not here right now. Maybe we can try to open the door together.”
“Alright!”
Ten seconds later, the four were disheartened.
“How is this possible? There’s only a ghost aura seal left behind, and the main target isn’t here. We can’t even break through? Fierce ghosts are terrifying.” Zhao Gangmen said, alarmed.
Duan Ming patted his shoulder, smiling ruefully with guilt. “Sorry, guys. I’ve gotten you all into trouble.”
Zhao Gangmen immediately gave him a look. “What kind of words are those? Even if we die, it’s an honor to die alongside the big brother.”
He Wei added, “Though I hate to admit it, my body tells me it feels the same.”
Wang Jue said nothing, but his gaze was sincere.
Duan Ming couldn’t help but feel deeply moved.
Everyone says the supernatural world is full of terror, but there are still some lovable ghosts.
At that moment, a weak voice sounded.
“Brothers, can you stop being so sentimental? Can you please get me out? I don’t want to die.”
“Hmm? Qian Gousheng? Why haven’t you left yet?”
“I want to leave too.” Qian Gousheng knocked on the floor, looking worse than if he were about to cry. “Every part of this room is sealed. I can’t pass through walls.”
He Wei was stunned, then gave a sly smile. “Hey, that’s good. It’s not for nothing that I gave you those few friendly stabs. Let’s get out together.”
He drew his kitchen knife. “Talking makes my hands itch. Come here and let me cut you a few times.”
“No, don’t!”
“Wait!” Duan Ming suddenly stopped them.
“Pass through walls?”
“Fresh blood?”
Muttering to himself, his eyes grew brighter.
Suddenly he turned to Wang Jue. “Wang Jue, do you think if the five of us combine our strength, we could tear a hole in this seal?”
Wang Jue pondered. “It shouldn’t be too difficult, but the hole won’t be big, so…”
Before he finished, Duan Ming interrupted, facing Qian Gousheng. “If we make a hole for you, can you run out?”
“Don’t talk about a hole; I’d slip through a crack.”

“Great!” Duan Ming almost jumped with joy.
“Big brother, what are you planning?” Zhao Gangmen asked, puzzled.
Duan Ming ignored him, took out a ghost talisman paper, closed his eyes as scenes flashed through his mind. When he opened them again, the talisman had changed drastically. He tossed it to Qian Gousheng and whispered a few instructions in his ear.
“What exactly are you up to? So secretive.” He Wei couldn’t help but ask.
Just then, they suddenly felt their bodies sink, and the surrounding ghostly aura began to churn.
Wang Jue shouted, “Bad! Jiang Xiaoxiao is coming!”
Duan Ming urgently said, “No time to explain. Hurry, get Qian Gousheng out first!”
He and He Wei swung their kitchen knives at the same spot, while Wang Jue and Zhao Gangmen pressed their hands forward, black energy surging. Almost simultaneously, Qian Gousheng’s ghostly figure vanished, leaving only a lingering voice.
“I will complete the mission!”

[Rewards: 1. Ghost Aura +20]
[2. Third Hand]
[3. Two incense sticks, 200 million ghost coins]
[Third Hand (Consumable): After use, you may choose left or right hand to replicate a third hand in front of your chest. The third hand’s strength is half that of the original arm. Usage: 3/3]
Ignoring the reward messages, the mounting pressure nearly took Duan Ming’s breath away. The other three ghosts showed the same reaction. Their eyes warily focused on the figure that suddenly appeared in the center of the living room.
Dressed in a school uniform, an angelic face, wavy figure—and most notably, wearing thigh-high stockings—definitely a homeboy’s nightmare.
Sure enough, He Wei’s gaze grew glazed, a lecherous smile spreading across his face as he staggered forward.
“He Wei!”
“He Wei!”
No matter how loudly they called, he remained unresponsive, as if possessed.
Duan Ming gritted his teeth and, summoning unknown strength, pulled out the photo album “Ghost You, the Passionate Portraits of Yongmei” and threw it toward him.
“Don’t forget your faith!”
Surprisingly, He Wei, who had been like a walking corpse, caught the album deftly with a sharp turn. His eyes cleared instantly, not a trace of confusion left.
He treasured the cover photo of Yongmei, caressing it like a lover. “Yongmei, I’m sorry. It’s my fault for being distracted by other ghosts. I swear that from now on, my heart belongs only to you.”
“Hee hee hee~ Didn’t expect this little Yongmei to have such charm now,” Jiang Xiaoxiao spoke, her voice sweet and soft, stirring everyone’s (and every ghost’s) hearts.
At this moment, Wang Jue, despite his social anxiety, pushed it aside to make one last effort.
He said, “Jiang Xiaoxiao, we’re all from the property department. The neighborhood committee hates when residents attack staff. Even if it’s in someone else’s room, there would definitely be traces left behind.”
“Hee hee hee~ Looks like you’ve seen through my plan,” Jiang Xiaoxiao laughed brightly. “But so what? Let’s not even mention whether anyone will come to the Hungry Ghost’s place. Do you think I came unprepared?”
“I thought only one living staff member would be attracted, but three ghosts showed up. Hee hee hee~ Though you’re all just ghosts, before I enjoy the human blood bath, a little ghost blood bath sounds even better.”
“So, who shall I start with~?”
Her eyes flicked over the three ghosts, making them feel as if countless ants were crawling all over them.
Then, without any further move, she lightly swiped her finger in front of her. Instantly, a huge wound appeared on Zhao Gangmen’s chest, fresh blood gushing out, dripping onto Jiang Xiaoxiao.
“Ah!”
“So good!”
Jiang Xiaoxiao’s cheeks flushed red, her eyes dreamy, her expression turning disturbingly twisted.
Like Yumeko Jabami.
