Chapter 6: A Stunning Debut
Ye Nantian had originally planned to completely rid himself of the menace that was Ye Junlin after Ye Jingyue entered the Dragon and Tiger Academy.
However, what Ye Nantian could never have anticipated was that this usually timid and unassuming Ye Junlin would appear at such a crucial moment.
Originally, the Dragon and Tiger Token belonged to Ye Junlin, and the qualification to enter the academy was his as well. Now, with Ye Junlin’s sudden appearance, all their previous efforts might be undone in an instant.
“Xinyun, quick, kill this boy—don’t give him a chance to speak!” Realizing the gravity of the situation, a murderous intent surged in Ye Nantian’s eyes. He leaned over and whispered urgently to Ye Xinyun at his side.
Ye Xinyun, who had been scheming about how to use Ye Jingyue’s help to enter the Dragon and Tiger Academy himself, saw his chance to shine and felt a surge of delight. Heh, with my current strength at the sixth level of Vein Opening, dealing with this useless Ye Junlin should be effortless.
Taking great strides, Ye Xinyun charged at Ye Junlin.
“Ye Junlin, you trash who can’t even awaken your spiritual veins, what are you doing here making trouble? Can’t you see we have guests?” Ye Xinyun shouted, berating Ye Junlin as he reached him, slamming a fist toward Ye Junlin’s head with all his might.
He unleashed his full strength, the power of the sixth Vein Opening realm raging within him. Ye Xinyun was supremely confident—his strength should be more than enough to split open the skull of someone like Ye Junlin, who couldn’t even awaken his spiritual veins.
At that moment, Ye Nantian, Ye Jingyue, and Ye Xuanyi all nodded approvingly at Ye Xinyun’s decisive punch. As long as Ye Junlin died today, all their troubles would be resolved.
Under the gaze of all present, Ye Junlin’s eyes narrowed sharply as Ye Xinyun’s murderous fist flew toward him. Ye Junlin raised his hand and swung a fist to meet Ye Xinyun’s blow.
“Heh, Ye Junlin, you’re like a mantis trying to stop a carriage. Overestimating yourself! Go die!” Ye Xinyun roared.
Their fists collided with a thunderous crack.
But before Ye Xinyun’s mocking words could fully leave his lips, a cry of pain burst from him.
The confidence Ye Xinyun had possessed was shattered in an instant as Ye Junlin’s punch sent him flying backward.
With a sickening thud, Ye Xinyun’s body crashed to the ground before Ye Nantian, Ye Jingyue, and Ye Xuanyi, blood gushing uncontrollably from his mouth, his injuries severe.
The three stared in shock, their eyes wide with disbelief.
“What? Wasn’t Ye Junlin supposed to be a useless waste unable to awaken his spiritual veins? He… he actually injured Ye Xinyun, who’s at the sixth level of Vein Opening, with a single punch? How is this possible?”
Their shouts of astonishment echoed in unison, their hearts thrown into turmoil.
Hearing their cries, Ye Junlin fixed his gaze coldly on Ye Jingyue.
“So, Ye Jingyue, are you surprised? You venomous woman—let me tell you something. I, Ye Junlin, am not a waste.”
Memories of Ye Jingyue’s betrayal, deceptions, and naked humiliation surged through him. Unable to contain his emotions any longer, Ye Junlin roared at her, his fists clenched tight.
In the dantian region of his body, beside the towering demon ape that stood ten thousand meters high, five golden serpents seemed to sense his fury, writhing madly.
In the next instant, a terrifying surge of energy exploded from Ye Junlin’s body.
“What? The fifth level of Vein Opening? Ye Junlin, you’ve reached the fifth level?” The crowd gasped in shock, especially Ye Jingyue, Ye Nantian, Ye Xuanyi, and Ye Xinyun, whose eyes were filled with disbelief.
“Ye Junlin, how dare you! You injured Ye Xinyun—do you know who his cousin is?” Ye Jingyue and Ye Nantian shouted, their faces turning cold as ice.
At that moment, two men dressed in black robes of the Iron Sword Sect, both emanating the murderous aura of the sixth Vein Opening realm, rushed into the hall and lifted the gravely wounded Ye Xinyun from the floor.
“Ye Junlin, how dare you harm the cousin of Master He of the Iron Sword Sect? You’re seeking death!” the two men roared at Ye Junlin, while Ye Xinyun sneered coldly, staggering back to face Ye Junlin.
“Did you hear that, Ye Junlin? My cousin is He Yidao of the Iron Sword Sect—kneel, you dog…” Ye Xinyun’s face was twisted with malice as he raised his fist toward Ye Junlin’s head again.
In that instant, a murderous glint flashed in Ye Junlin’s eyes. He drew the longsword at his waist and drove it straight through Ye Xinyun’s heart.
As Ye Xinyun collapsed in a pool of blood, lifeless, everyone present was stunned.
Ye Jingyue, Ye Nantian, and Ye Xuanyi had never imagined Ye Junlin would be so bold as to kill Ye Xinyun right in front of the Iron Sword Sect men.
With Ye Xinyun dealt with, Ye Junlin’s icy gaze fell upon the two black-robed Iron Sword Sect members.
“Heh, Iron Sword Sect? I don’t care if you’re Iron Sword or Rotten Sword—cross me, Ye Junlin, and there’s only one outcome: death.”
Murderous intent saturated his low, growling words.
“Well, well, Ye Junlin, isn’t it? You’re quite brazen. You really dare look down on the Iron Sword Sect? Boy, prepare to die.” The two men sneered, then turned to leave the Ye family’s reception hall.
“Trying to leave?” Ye Junlin watched their retreating backs and, gripping his sword, prepared to give chase.
But Ye Nantian stepped forward, his face contorted with rage, blocking Ye Junlin’s path. The oppressive force of his Spirit Gathering realm cultivation bore down on Ye Junlin, forcing him to stagger back.
“You old dog, what’s the meaning of this?” Ye Junlin spat, watching helplessly as the two Iron Sword Sect members departed, his insides churning under Ye Nantian’s pressure.
His face twisted with fury.
Damn it. Letting those two go was like releasing tigers back into the wild.
Ye Nantian, that old dog, was begging for retribution.
