“Oh ho,” Han Bing sneered disdainfully at the little fox. Ever since this fox appeared, his life had basically been in a downward spiral. How dare she scratch him? If it weren’t for the fact that she belonged to his master, he would have definitely grabbed the little fox by the neck and thrown her far away—out of sight, out of mind!

“Squeak, squeak, squeak,” the fox snapped indignantly, “I, the great Fox Immortal, don’t like you. I’ll make you scram!”

Nuoxue was held tightly in Lie Yan’s arms, her tiny paws scratching vigorously at Han Bing. But since she was being held, she couldn’t reach him and soon tried to leap out of Lie Yan’s embrace. Sensing this, Lie Yan furrowed his brow slightly. “Han Bing, if anything happens to this little fox, you might as well hang your head and wait to die.”

“Uh,” Han Bing stared blankly at Lie Yan. Was that a threat? Right? Right? “You’re actually threatening me!”

“I’m not threatening you. Can you at least use your brain when you act?”

“...” Han Bing was speechless. After all these years, did he really give off the impression that he acted without thinking?

“Squeak, squeak, squeak! You fool!” Nuoxue triumphantly took advantage of the situation, clapping her little paws together and then patting Lie Yan’s chest. Her approving gaze said plainly, “You did a good job!” She patted his chest instead of his shoulder because her paws weren’t long enough to reach that far.

Watching the little fox acting all innocent after getting the better of him, a slight smile tugged at the corners of Lie Yan’s lips. This little creature was truly adorable—no wonder his master liked her so much.

Since Nuoxue still had a protector, Han Bing had no choice but to trail behind in defeat. After a while, she appeared to fall asleep, though she was actually cultivating. Lie Yan gently stroked the fox’s fur. Upon arriving at Shuihua Palace, he placed the little fox on the Dragon Bed and then disappeared with Han Bing.

As dusk approached, Xuanyuan Yu returned to Shuihua Palace. Seeing the little fox sleeping soundly, her fur growing increasingly lustrous, he felt a rare warmth. So far, no one had discovered Nuoxue’s presence because Xuanyuan Yu forbade palace maidens from entering the Dragon Bed’s vicinity. He himself disliked women.

Xuanyuan Yu entered the side hall and began to undress, preparing for a bath. The side hall contained a natural hot spring, with a lifelike dragon head carved into the wall. The spring water gushed from the dragon’s mouth. The pool was crafted from shimmering, multicolored glazed jade stones, looking exquisitely luxurious.

Nuoxue sniffed, blinked her wide eyes in a daze, and then came to her senses. She glanced around before lightly leaping off the Dragon Bed. Seeing the palace full of spiritual energy and well arranged, she almost wanted to say, “Such a prodigal child!”

Licking her lips, feeling a bit dry, she heard the sound of flowing water and wagged her tail gracefully, trotting towards the side hall. Upon seeing the full pool, she hurried over, but stepping on a wet patch on the floor, she suddenly slipped and fell with a splash into the water.

Because her splash was muffled and the sound of the dragon’s water masked it, Xuanyuan Yu didn’t notice. Falling into the water, Nuoxue opened her mouth to call for help but ended up swallowing a lot of Xuanyuan Yu’s bathwater. She didn’t realize yet, but paddling vigorously, she saw Xuanyuan Yu’s thigh!

She swam with all her might and clung tightly to the thing between his legs. Inwardly, she wondered why her master had a third leg—so short, so small, and soft. Was her master underdeveloped? Huh, his calves were growing! Getting longer, getting harder, but still quite short. Fortunately, his third leg wasn’t long; otherwise, how would he walk? That would be so inconvenient.
