Chapter 28
At midnight on the weekend, Xia Zui, who had been lying sprawled on the sofa for several days, finally crawled up.
She tossed aside the junk food in front of her and began to call out to the reclusive System, "Xiao Tan, what are we selling this week?"
Xiao Tan didn't speak, but silently issued her a task.
[Ding! Please sell all the stall items issued by the System within one week. Prices must follow the marked rates; do not raise or lower prices at will, and do not allow customers to try out the products.]
[Ding! Because the bamboo copters and magic glasses from last week's stall items were widely acclaimed, to meet the demands of our vast customer base, they are making a return. The quantity has been increased to ten thousand each. (Considering the efficacy of the magic glasses, the host must sell them to those who truly need them.)]
[The items for this week's stall are now being issued; please check them.]
Xia Zui rubbed her hands together, feeling that this week's task was a bit challenging.
The bamboo copters and magic glasses were returning with an additional ten thousand in stock, and she had to ensure the magic glasses went to those who genuinely needed them.
She took a deep breath. "Let's do it!"
Soon, a pile of items suddenly appeared before her.
"Xiaxia, the quantities of bamboo copters and magic glasses are too large, so we will send them to you in batches," Eleven said.
Xia Zui nodded; that was fine, otherwise, her room would likely be packed to the ceiling. After all, her living room was already so crowded she had nowhere to step.
"Just how many things are there this time!"
Eleven scratched his head. "There are twenty-five thousand items in total this time—ten thousand each of the bamboo copters and magic glasses, and one thousand of each of the others."
Xia Zui hadn't expected the inventory to be so large. She looked at the pile at her feet.
She saw a label that read, "Clothes Purifier?"
[Clothes Purifier: Simply place clothes inside the purifier, and they will come out clean as new. Suggested retail price: 599 yuan.]
"Isn't this just a washing machine?" Xia Zui asked, puzzled.
Eleven hurriedly said, "The Clothes Purifier is different! Xiaxia, you'll know once you try it!"
Xia Zui looked at her jam-packed living room and sighed. "I'll try it tomorrow."
Just as she finished speaking, another notification sounded in her mind.
[Ding! The side mission for this week is now released. Please sell the random stall items at a random location. This week's random location: Yuanchong City. This week's random stall item: Beauty Restoration Machine. (Because this week's random item is not a product for sale but a service, the host must host one thousand people this week to complete the task.)]
[Please strive to complete the side mission. Only by completing all tasks can you receive the surprise gift package before the Stall System departs.]
Xia Zui stood with her mouth agape, staring at a giant box that had suddenly appeared.
"Yuanchong City?"
Yuanchong City was a two-hour flight away from Jiangchao City. This meant she had to sell twenty-five thousand items within seven days and then rush over to Yuanchong City!
Xia Zui took a deep breath, feeling the immense pressure of this week's mission. She wondered if there would be a side mission every week; she had assumed it was only for last week. It seemed she would have absolutely no time to slack off this week!
For the sake of the surprise gift package, onwards!
The next day.
Early morning was the quietest time on the pedestrian street; everyone was busy with work or school, and people only had time to stroll around in the afternoon or evening.
However, today the pedestrian street was much livelier than usual.
Even the vendors had set up their stalls early, simply because today was Monday and "that" stall owner had said they would be opening.
This made the other vendors on the street incredibly happy. Because the news of the stall owner's return had spread, foot traffic had increased significantly over the past few days. They had even come early in the morning to sweep and clean the mysterious stall owner's spot again. This was a "great Buddha" they had to treat with care!
Even Heng Jianmu had set up his stall early. Being the stall owner's neighbor, he had to lead by example and help maintain the stall owner's clientele. Today, he had also brought his child who was on break; the little one was wearing a temperature-control bracelet and doing homework. Heng Jianmu tutored him while thinking about how many people were likely to show up today.
Unexpectedly, while his head was bowed, someone suddenly appeared beside him.
Heng Jianmu looked up and saw a young girl pulling a large pile of items on a small cart.
He was overjoyed—wasn't this the stall owner!
"Why did you come so early!"
Xia Zui yawned. She didn't want to, either! But this week's tasks were so busy that she had to finish them as soon as possible. Perhaps because she had been a corporate drudge for so long, she always felt like a donkey; if she didn't finish her work quickly, she felt anxious.
"Morning," Xia Zui greeted him, then began placing the items on the stall. "Why is there a stall frame set up for me?"
Xia Zui looked at the tall stall, wondering if someone else had bought this spot. If so, she would have to find a new place.
Heng Jianmu hurriedly said, "It seems the city management set it up for you, saying it would make it easier for you to sell."
"You have no idea how good business has been these past few days. So many people came from out of town; I made several thousand just yesterday."
"Come, come, let me help you set up. What are all these?"
He looked at the items, thinking he needed to call his wife and tell her to come over. He had thought Xia Zui wouldn't arrive until evening; he hadn't expected her to show up first thing in the morning. If he wasn't careful, everything would be sold out before they could even get a look.
Passersby who saw this scene were stunned, then shouted, "The stall owner is here!"
Out-of-towners currently on the pedestrian street heard the shout and immediately looked over. In no time, a crowd had gathered in front of Xia Zui's stall.
Xia Zui scrambled to set up, saying, "Please line up, everyone. I won't sell to you if you don't line up."
Everyone scrambled into a queue, those in front chatting excitedly.
"What is all this? Why are there such large items?"
"When does the stall owner start selling? I came all the way from out of town, hahahaha! I didn't expect to run into you first thing in the morning, this is great!"
"Do you want me to help you set up?"
"Are there any bamboo copters left? I want to fly!"
"Wow, what a huge mirror, what is this for?"
Xia Zui sighed deeply. "I'll explain later. I still have to make a few more trips."
The floor mirror and the Clothes Purifier were too bulky, and the "Weather Cloud" wasn't small either. Her small cart couldn't hold much in one trip.
Just then, several people in police uniforms ran over from a distance. They arrived at Xia Zui's stall and asked, "Do you need any help?"
One officer gestured, "Everyone, stay in line! No pushing!"
Xia Zui panicked when she saw the police, but seeing the female officer in charge smiling and looking gentle, she felt less nervous.
The female officer in charge was Xiao Li. Yang Hongbo had been admitted to the hospital, so this mission was handed to her. She was primarily responsible for maintaining order and protecting the stall owner. It was fortunate she had arrived early today; she hadn't expected the stall owner to show up so early—it really caught them off guard.
Xia Zui probed, "Could you help me move some things? And keep an eye on the stall while you're at it?"
Xiao Li immediately smiled, "Of course!"
Xia Zui: ...
*So enthusiastic? What on earth was I afraid of before?*
Xiao Li immediately arranged for a few officers to help move the goods, while two others stayed to watch the stall. Xia Zui felt like a national treasure, a panda. She led the police to the parking lot, unloaded the items, and moved them to the stall. Most of what she brought in this trip were small items, as her van couldn't hold many of the large ones.
After Xiao Li helped her finish moving the items, she smiled and asked, "What is your surname? I don't know how to address you."
Xia Zui started to say her surname was Xia, but she immediately pivoted. "My surname is Xiong."
Like the bear (panda).
Xiao Li knew immediately that it was a fake name, but she still smiled. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Xiong. You can call me Xiao Li. If you need any help, feel free to call me."
Xia Zui nodded casually. "Thanks."
Xiao Li shook her head immediately. "No need to thank me, it's our duty."
After saying that, she smiled again and stepped aside.
By now, the customers had formed a long line, and many were on their phones calling friends. Xiao Li and the officers maintained order to prevent any conflicts or accidents among the waiting customers.
Xia Zui sat on a chair behind the stall and took out a megaphone. "I know you're all curious about what new products I'm selling."
"Let me explain them to everyone all at once."
"You should have already heard of the bamboo copters and magic glasses; these two items are back, with ten thousand of each."
As she spoke, the people in line cheered, as many of them had come specifically for the bamboo copters.
In the queue was a girl named Wen Xue. Like Yu Jingshan, she was a content creator. However, her videos were usually about beauty and makeup. She had come to Jiangchao City to visit after seeing these products online, hoping she might be able to buy some.
Wen Xue glanced at the people in front of her; there were only about a dozen, so she was sure to get something. She was so grateful she hadn't slept well last night and had come down early to eat, running right into the stall owner.
This was perfect timing!
Wen Xue listened as the stall owner continued. She was also curious about what other interesting products the owner had.
Xia Zui brought out a round ball. "This is a Pet Spirit Ball. You can put your pet inside. It is recommended to keep them in for no more than twenty-four hours. The Pet Spirit Ball can provide the pet inside with certain nutrients, so it can be used for short-distance transport."
